That both his audio and video are being picked up by his cellphone? And how much is ESPN paying a guy who broadcasts (podcasts?) in front of a messy bookshelf? "Tomorrow night, Tim Tebow joins me in The Den to analyze yesterday's roster cuts."

And now -- the answer to the never asked question, "Who is Stephen Morris?" ======= Eagles Claim Stephen Morris on Waivers to Fill No. 3 QB Spot PHILADELPHIA -- The Eagles were determined to start the season with a mobile quarterback from the state of Florida on their roster. It just turned out to be Stephen Morris instead of Tim Tebow. The Eagles claimed Morris, 23, off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former University of Miami quarterback will be the No. 3 quarterback on the Eagles' roster. Morris takes the job that Tebow and Matt Barkley competed for during training camp and the preseason. Barkley was traded to Arizona on Friday. Tebow was released Saturday, leaving the Eagles with one vacancy on their 53-man roster. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13598290/philadelphia-eagles-fill-tim-tebow-spot-claiming-stephen-morris ======= Somebody's prayers were answered...

According to Wikipedia Tebow was a pretty good (all-state) baseball player in high school & the Dodgers showed some interest in drafting him if he had played during his senior year. Maybe the guy has a chance.

Correction: It was actually the Angels who expressed interest when Tim was in H.S. He had a tryout with the Dodgers before this year's season began.

For those of you still keeping score...... 'Course it *was* the instructional league, but being 29 years old in the instructional league? I'm betting he can hit a golf ball a long ways, too, but suspect his short game is 'suspect'. And if he learned to skate, he could probably throw a mean body check on the ice. And likely not too shabby in pushing a bobsled.

I'll qualify my comments: Not a fan. The pitch looked like an 80 mph "fast" ball delivered high. The catcher had his glove below his knees, and the pitch came in around his face mask: a grooved BP pitch. Now, hitting a home run is better than not hitting a home run, and although IL players are the absolute bottom tier of pro players (recent high school grads and older players still chasing the dream), they are certainly better than your average high school player. Time will tell. =========== By the way, the video below is far superior to the one in TN's post.

lol. I didn't even know there was a video on the link I posted - just linking the story. Your link is just what ESPN showed last night. Oh, and I agree with your assessment of the comp and the pitch itself. And to fill in the rest of the boxscore, he ended up 1-for-6.

Ok, here's a pretty well-written deep background story on Tebow. As I think I said earlier, my money would be on him not making it, but it's still a nice story to read.

Some interesting quotes from the article: "Tebow has exceeded almost any reasonable expectation since making the shift from football to the broadcast booth to baseball. The 31-year-old hit .273/.336/.399 in 298 plate appearances at Double-A in 2018, respectable numbers that Michael Jordan would have coveted during his brief stint in the Chicago White Sox system in the 1990s. "He also tallied six home runs and 36 RBI in 84 games with Binghamton, making the Eastern League All-Star game before a broken hamate bone in July cut his season and any 2018 dreams of Major League Baseball short. "Those aren’t numbers that would warrant a look at any 31-year-old minor leaguer not named Tebow. But Tebow’s not just any other minor leaguer. And the Mets appear intent on getting every bit of value they can from him, whether or not that means success on the field." Jordan's single season of baseball was at age 31 (Tebow's current age), and Jordan's stats that year were similar to, though 20 points lower than, Tebow's first year. On the positive side for Tebow, his 2018 BA in AA was 50 points higher than the previous year in A. So who knows -- maybe he'd be okay in the bigs.

And of course...............................if one retires from one sport, and has already failed at another "career choice".............one naturally goes back to a different - or the same - sport, right? I actually think this isn't necessarily a bad idea, and he might have been a better TE prospect from the beginning. I guess we'll see.

When Tebow got the Heisman and was subsequently drafted, he and his mom hit the airwaves with an anti-abortion campaign: https://youtu.be/sw7qX1TpdNQ . It was the beginning of the endless Tebow fandom wearing his jersey/number with JESUS where the name should be and countless other distractions. Well, welcome to the NFL, Zach Wilson and his mommy. It makes me long for Pam Tebow.

Tebow's second go at the NFL just ended. Jacksonville released him moments ago. He was attempting to convert to tight end. He is big, he was ripped (muscle-wise), but he could not block at all. Back to the booth.
