It has come to my attention that Zander has passed away. He was a long-time player here and one of the early folks who helped set the tone for this place. His last login here was Jan 14, 2014 so I'm likely not very on top of the news here. Feel free to add details. He'll be missed. Denny

I don't know anything about Zander passing on but *if* this site continues into the years beyond it would be nice to have, at least, a specific thread for reference of those players who have passed on. Hopefully someone in their family or a fb friend maybe would pass the news this way...just sayin' (I hate that saying so much but it's fitting sometimes...j.s.).

Last month, an early boyfriend of mine died. I was not informed til two weeks later, by a mutual life long friend who I was close with for decades. Yesterday I found out that friend is now also dead, two weeks. Found out on fb and pretty pissed at his sister. So what else is new. She was always jealous of our friendship. RIP Roger and Joel

TN, thanks for the link. I suppose if I am ever on it I will not be able to reference it any longer. Oh well...life is too short, everyone,...be nice!

Zander should really be included in Denny's memorial board; but he isn't yet.

I didn't know Zander so if someone who knew him would write up a short bio I'll add him to the memorial board. buck

So sad. I remember Zander very well, but only from here. Just checked out the link that TNmountainman posted and found out several other players from the old days have also passed. RIP

I recall Zander from the early days. I also recall, if I am correct, that he was in some "spirited" discussions. He was a Scot, if I recall correctly.

The memorial page is important. My "mr bob" was a great human being, but toward the end of his life the only outlet and ties beside me were nurses and the gang on freecell.net. I am finally getting a book finished about our great, and silly, and passionate love affair, which lasted 21 and a half years, and 15minutes. And guess what ? Because of our crazy brains , love doesn't end. Memory will serve you well. It has been ten years , and you and the freecell.net friends meant a lot to him.... People are afraid of cancer, and don't visit. I figure it is because they don't know what to say. "How are you?" .....never fits. How do you relate to the dying , but not yet gone? You can't talk to them , after the grim reaper collects his booty.... Having lost 24 members of my family and friends within a two year period , I tell folks, just talk to the friend about what you are doing in your life. The ill are missing all the normal routine cares and problems in life. Be yourself. communicate just like you do on the blind internet. Human contact is too important. We are social animals. The grim reaper will take us when we least expect it , or maybe when we know. But be kind to one another, and be remembered well. Aloha, Mrs. Bob aka "Bonnard + me " PS Bonnard is a Labradoodle who is driving me crazy . He has eaten his way through pearls, glasses, and underwear! He makes me laugh!
