Freecell - I need help I started playing the game in the 90's Then 32000 were able to solve Well, I thought - we'll solve it I played one after one 1,2,3,4 ------- And came over 27000 when the new windows came In that version of windows is 1.000000 million opportunity Good - but it's too much for me I'm retired and do not like so many In 20 years maybe 100,000 so it would take 200 years to complete Look realistic about the matter then I'm not in life (or?) Today I am at 79999 - so I have some left to 100,000 You who love the game and want to help manage as many as possible Contact me geza@manek.se I need one from 100000 to 199999            One from 200000 to 299999 So on to 1000000 We who love the game can solve this - I'm sure Sincerely lammanek

lammanek, you must remember that those 1 million are themselves sort of arbitrary. 52! deals are possible - FAR FAR FAR FAR more than 1 million. So, trying to be kind....it seems as though your quest is somewhat artificial(?), if you see my point. MUCH more fun is to play on this site and experience a tremendous range of choices of arrays. The traditional MS 8x4 version is BORING compared to the choices offered here. I understand that you've put countless hours into this, but really, are you too old to change your stripes/spots? Why not enjoy your last years even more by exploring other options here? And by the way......very few of us on this site would have any interest in playing the MS game - for the reason(s) I just detailed.

As a footnote...I accidently stumbled onto this site when trying to find an answer to something pertaining to MS freecell...about 2003 or 04...never went back to MS. Ditto to what TN said.

A long time ago, I too started at game 1 in MS Freecell and got up as far as 73,000 something before I discovered this site and have hardly gone back to the MS version. FYI, in my research before switching to this site, I found that there was only "1" unwinnable game in MS freecell, before game 100,000 and it is 11982. The next unwinnable game is around 120,000 or 130,000. But I too enjoy the variety of this site for the different variants. But that's the nice thing about this site, there so much to choose from. And they even have "winnable" versions of some of the games, in case you don't like playing Russian roulette ! Plus, this site tracks stats on the different games....if you are interested in that sort of thing. Good luck whichever way you decide !

A computer freecell solver has solved most of the games, and shown a handful to be unwinnable. In the first 100k the only unwinnable is 11982.

There are, I believe 8 unwinnables in the first million of ms. I started playing around 2003 also and found this site and don't go back to ms for the same reasons outlined by Tn. There is nowhere else that even slightly compares to freecell.net. I say this unreservedly, I don't even know Denny. If you like variety and want to try different variants (which I highly recommend, everybody likes the 13x0 f'rinstance, they're easier than the 8x4s but you have no freecells so you have to be careful at the beginning, completely different strategy) this is the only site as far as I know that has anything but the standard 8x4. If you're like me and like stats this is definitely the place. Tournaments 24/7 as well as many ongoing discussions about things freecell related or not, what more could you ask? By the way, there's a site called the freecell project started by Dave Ring in the 90's. He gave out the first 32000 on ms to human volunteers which were solved by Oct. 1995. Now they're in the 17 millions.
