Subject: How is Ave Streak calculated

There is a known error in the database for some people, Rebecca1 as an example. But I didn't know about this. See the link below. It looks like I'll never move to #1 in all time Ave. Streak in 9x4 because Rebecca1's number of 10014 is superior to my current 10051. The win percentage ranking somehow takes into account the number of games played. That makes sense because otherwise someone who has won 100% of the games they've played, but that is only 1 game say, would move ahead of 99.9% wins with 100000 played. Right...I see why there is some kind of factor for number of games played, even though I don't know what it is. But what is the one for Ave. Streak? Maybe it involves number of games played too, and since Rebecca1's data is messed up (she has won 10014 games but has only played 10014 which is why she has a 100.01% win percentage...these are all well known but apparently unsolvable) it is affecting Ave. Streak too. But number of games played shouldn't be a part of "Ave. Streak" should it??? Darn! James

I was curious about this too. In one of the variants I had 3 ended streaks: 202,252,311 total=765 total/3=255 Now I started a new streak and it was equal to 255 until I reached 255. From 256+ it's being updated by dividing with 4: For example my current streak is at 320: (202+252+311+320)/4=271.25 (displayed as 271.2)

James, if you hover your mouse over the "won" column, you will see that %won = "won/(total+2)". I have always thought that Avg. streak was the (sum of your streaks)/(number of your streaks). But apparently sometimes it is: (sum of your completed streaks)/(number of your completed streaks). I have only checked a few of my results, but so far it is always one, or the other. I can't even begin to guess why this is so. I hope that this is helpful.

Ellie2, Ah, that's the factor for why the win percentage sorts the way it does...makes sense. No problems there. But regarding the Average Streak, in the case of Rebecca1 or me we only have one streak each. Both active. (So the formula can't do "completed streaks" for either of us at all...) Could it be that there is still a "+2" in effect? I don't see how it could matter. Rebecca1 and I have very similar numbers in every way...I've played (slightly) more games than she, we've both won every game. What could be different? I think it must be related to how here data is messed up. James

I can't say exactly, but it might be something like this: NW = total number of wins CW = wins in current streak NL = total number of losses if NL = 0 avgstreak = NW else avgstreak = maximum((NW-CW)/NL, NW/(NL+1)) end Though you'd expect it to break with an NL = -1 with a divide by 0 error, so I'm not sure it explains your current case. There might be an extra level where it checks what value is actually displayed such that it won't display a value greater than your maximum streak.
