I like Winnable 6x5 because it melts my brain. Second is Winnable 13x0. It seems so easy and yet it bites me on the but every now and then.

Non-winnable 10x1; the Mr. Bob. Easy, tricky but humbling when streaking.

Does there *have* to be one? (See link.) If so, then it has varied................first 11x0, then it was 6x6, then 9x2, then it was 8x2? 11x0 and 12x0 are kinda nice. Variety is the spice of freecell.

TN, when I asked one of my board gaming friend what her favorite game was, she said "something new". I'd not that she wins new games at a much higher rate than games we've played before. But correlation is not causation. :-)

12x0 is the one I started with, playing all my nicks from the nursery rhyme (GGG, Where shall I wander, Upstairs and Downstairs, And in my ladies chamber)

Because you have to think about it and an impossible game will grab you before you get to a huge streak and investment in time so it doesn't hurt too much

Big fan of un-winnable 13x0. I like blindly streaking along, and then WHAM an impossible deal. I also like to use this variant as a way to practice speed playing for tournaments.

I like the variants that are rarely difficult and always solvable (eg. 12x2)! 12x3 and 12x4 are "too easy". Interestingly, in 12x3 I have 2701 wins for 2700 games played (= 100.04%)! Disappointly, in 12x4, my best streak is 1999 for 2000 games played (BUT I NEVER LOST A 12X4 GAME)!!! It has always "amused" me that computers can make these kinds of mistakes! I also like the winnable variants -- even though sometimes difficult they are always solvable!

Nice to see you all again! I've been away from the game for a few years. My favorite game is definitely the regular 10x2. They are often a challenge but almost always winnable. I think the smaller number of freecells make the number of playing options a bit more manageable than 8X4. I also enjoy 9X2, 13X0, and 8X4 (all regular). I've never gotten into the winnable ones, but that's just me. I had a streak at 10X2 that I still can't quite believe - kept expecting to get a deal I couldn't beat but it kept going on and on. When I finally got stumped, I just couldn't bring myself to hit the "give up" button, which is why I've been away for a bit.

8x3. It's like the ever-popular standard, but a little more challenging. Maybe one day I can beat the standard streak of the day, using the 8x3.

No wonder you like the 8x3. Stacking the box like that gives you a much higher chance of completing a short pass.

Sadly someone ran up 155 in 8x4 the day I got 111 in 8x3. I don't believe it has ever happened, but if enough serious people start going for daily marks in 8x3 I think it will. About once a week you get an 8x4 winner in the 70's and we've had a few players break that in 8x3 daily.

10x1;mr.bobs favorite! Why? ... It teaches the mind , even if one does not like the mistakes , logic. Because we are an organic blob called human beings, I use HUMAN BEINGS loosely, because we, during living , tire,.... with out our coffee, make mistakes... even in our greatest achievements, can laugh at our boo, boos, and choke when we might be winning , and lose anyway . !0x1 isn't always solvable... Neither is life. By passing away five years of HELL fighting bloody colon cancer, 10x1 free cell, challenged mr.bob's mind, and allowed, or forced him to concentrate on something besides the ravages of pain cancer and which chemotherapy can cause. mr. bob coached me how to work on a computer.( Told me to buy a dog on the computer, and not to come back to bed with out a sale. I had to buy one from Australia . (No quarantine.) I am a visual artist , who has to recreate her world and the wheel every day, so computer logic is a nightmare for me. ...But then , bless his heart, bob couldn't draw , but stick figures. His last words to me were keep breathing, be KIND to others, and " I Love you more than Life." To have a great love is ....infinite....

Jeanne, you get to me every time I read your posts. You need to re-post a link to your artwork, sometime, for the newbies here. After working my ass off for 37+ yrs of o.r. nursing I have recently taken a job filling in for a friend who had a heart valve replacement. Not in nursing but in a less than minimum wage job as a laundromat attendant.I do the worsh for others who bring it into the facility. Construction workers, deer hunters and single guys who don't have time, or desire, to do their own. I *love* the work! It's a mindless task that I can do while yapping to others. The tips are good and I go home so tired that I fall asleep without playing freecell. "To have a great love is....infinite....". I have that waiting for me when I get home.

hotnurse , you sound tough sometimes to others, but I know the under belly of tough is a wary fear of being kicked around. We all are. You are kind. you are blessed to have a great love...and thats the good stuff!!! My aloneness and this past election made me very angry and fearful , so I bought a standard Labradoodle: I call him after Bonnard, who was a French post impressionist, who painted the genre of everyday life and dogs. ( I should have named him 'isis" for his destructive ways...They are killing me. He is silky sweet, and eaten my string of opals, , twice.....My Rx eyeglasses, six pair, two times . No one can afford his mischief! He bangs on the door at five a.m., pulls off my blanket, and goes to the bidet, turns on the spigot, and drinks water.... He does not turn it off#^*^%$ When it comes to training , well, I'm definitely trained! Yeah, I don't worry about POTUS and North Korea much any more, because Bonnard is in charge. HEE, hee. This is an old web site of my work:wwwjeannedentonnelson.com I now am doing more political cartooning, and bronzes about life. I'll work until I'm in the arms of Morpheus. And Im still writing my book...
