yes welcome back kenwa! I did make a break-through in how I play, which has made me a little faster. Only wish I figured it out a decade ago :(

Well... The sad part is I'm pretty sure all of the super fast players already play (or rather played) this way. I just really didn't figure it out for myself until recently. When considering the game board from left to right I try not to go either way without making a move. So if I have to move a card or two from the right to the left, I also make sure that my next move will be left to right. Simple really, but it really helped me break through on lightnings and supers. It really only applies to speed variants, and wides (sometimes). With tougher games I've just started to better keep track of the moves in my head, something I never really was good at. I used to make the same losing moves over and over, now I kind of try different things, and approaches even though they seem crazy. It helps me break a game that seems unbeatable...

yes, the speedier games I try that too, but I do find it harder these days to keep the game moves in my head on the more difficult games - :O) that's okay I will content myself to trying to scurry after you.

For the tough games, I just go by the columns that I attack, so if I try an attack on one column that looks promising but goes nowhere, then I transfer my energy to another column. Then I systematically go through the columns looking for openings, then as needed I modify the attack by what is working and what is not. But I keep track of the different options by keeping track of which column I started on. Not sure that makes sense, but I have found it pretty helpful in remembering complex games.

yes, makes sense - you make it sound easy :O) - methodical approach eliminating false starts and maximizing the possibility of finding the quickest opening. You are very very very good at it calico.

Kenwa! Were you afraid I could get your 10.000 wins? I still have ways to go to get close to this figure. Good to have you back, again...

thanks yummi, couldn't stay away although I'm not going to play anywhere near the amount I used to , it's fun to play an occasional few. I honestly thought I was done at 10,000, but things have changed a little in my personal circumstances and although I don't have the time I used to, I can still play here and there. look forward to future games despite our different time zones.

Hey CK, nice Masters win. At least it wasn’t as brutal as this past Friday’s freak out. That was my worst whumping ever in that format. I thought about not playing today (given my poor form over the last few days) but had to step up for the chance to keep the streak going.

Thanks Kaos! Sometimes things just fall into place. I have not been playing particularly well lately either, but I really wanted to play the Masters since it had been a little while. Did I play the Friday Freakout? I feel like I did, but I don't remember having a good showing.

Hey guys, nice to see you two still here. I had to take a break from the game due to working and stuff. The Freakout on Friday (I'm pretty sure that I player) was, imo, brutal. I thought that it was just me. Aging is kicking my butt on trying to keep moves stored in my noggin. I just play fast, lose fast and many times just go for what might look crazy and it works...finally.
