Happy Father's Day to all of the freecell dads here! I hope you are able to spend time, whether on the phone, on-line or in person with your kids and grand kids. Life is getting shorter... To my friend's...I finally have a brand new ASIS 2018 laptop w/W 10. Learning curve for me, but I hope to be back playing tournaments now and then. My 23 yr old desk-top pc w/W XP Home finally crapped out. I thought it would last a bit longer. ;) I miss you all.

G'day from Oz hotnurse and thanks, but we don't do Father's Day until the first September of Sunday, so a while to wait yet. I bought a new ACER desktop last year with a cordless mouse and can't play freecell with it, so still using my 2008 HP. I also use my 2003 HP for non-online tasks like scanning documents, uploading camera files and Excel 97, still the best version imo. I have a 25-year-old out in the shed doing nothing which was my first freecell machine. Good to hear from you again!

Happy fathers day to Denny , and all you men out there who care for anyone .... That is fatherly, the right thing to do.! , And to mrbob.... RIP. I thank all of the people who made freecell.net. available to us. It is 4:40a.m here in Maui, and I am playing freecell ... badly! ...But it doesn't matter, because , mr.bob and I would play freecell.net and the intense concentration would take our minds off the cares of the world: with my genius , Mr. Bob , dealing with Metastic colon cancer ,who for five years, and now for me , who cannot sleep, played 10x1, and the game, taxing the mind, helped! I bailed my dog groomer out of jail, who now bailed on me. (She didn't come to groom my three pooches. ) So many people are on drugs, and alcohol here. This has become the Isle of Missfits! My care giver is 3,000 miles away from me, putting his young son in college, and my house is a wreck . It was hit by lightning , several times last winter. TV s are gone, printers, fax, phones, were disabled, water pipes were burst between walls, (Mold) and I wait for repair men who will come to fix this and that..... Especially the refrigerator/freezer. ... Been without THAT for months! Yes , I do have lightning arresters and surge protectors, but direct hits , repeatedly have taken massive tolls on my home. I have recuperated from 2 total hip replacements , 2 total shoulder replacements, so I can now move around more easily, but the Waiting for repair help is driving me nuts..... MY doctor is in trouble too! So life goes on, and Beethoven, Leonardo Davinci, and Pierre Bonnard , my loving dogs, and I snuggle while I play freecell.net. maybe now I can sleep. Happy Fathers Day.ZZZZZZZzzzzz HI roo, and hot nurse!zzzz

So sorry for everything that you are going through, Jeanne. I have been thinking about you lately with the volcano and all, although I realize it is many miles from Maui. I have a good childhood friend, Marty Anderson, who is a helicopter tour pilot in Maui. I'm sure you don't know him, but if you do tell him I said hi. Keep us posted.

The problem, in Maui with the Kilawea Volcano on The Big Island OF Hawaii, is when the trade winds blowing from the north to the south, blow VOG (volcanic ash in fog) to the other Islands in a circular pattern. It is very painful for those who have breathing problems like asthma , or COPD. Those of us with breathing problems end up in closed air conditioned spaces, or helped by oxygen machines.......The folks on the big Island really have lost a lot of homes .The lava has burned the land and many possessions of the locals. The good part about our people here in Hawaii, is our ALOHA, we look after our own. The State will help relocate folks to have permanent housing . It just takes time and money. We have a service economy. Everybody helps their neighbor. i'm Ok. just get lonely at times. Good to know folks like you.

Just curious, Jeanne: how much relief from the fed. govmt. has your state received...if any. And Has the POTUS been over there to assess the situation himself? Not meant a bit to stir the political pot, just wondering because I have not read of any relief teams being sent. I haven't read first-hand from anyone in Hawaii. I have a few other friends whom I haven't heard from yet. Hang in there sweetie and keep us posted on your health.

Some federal money has been sent to Hawaii. Potus has a big hotel on Honolulu,.. Hawaii..... I'll check to see how much. Politically , Hawaii is a blue state. We are primarily a service state. Our islands are owned by companies out of America, and the super rich. Oprah owns many acres in upcountry, here on Maui. as she grows GMOs, veggies. Lanai Island, one of five properties , is owned by Larry Ellison, the founder and CEO of Oracle. about 3 percent of Lanai is owned by the local residents of Hawaii. Larry likes to sail his boats, and ships around our Islands . I use to see more of his ships when he first took up residency here , but not lately. I can see Lanai and Molokai from my home, as I am blessed to live on the Ocean. The Green Sea Turtles reside in my bay . The Spinner Dolphins jump and spin by in the morning , going north to munch on food. A mother Hawaiian Monk Seal bares her young pup on the shore near by. The local neighbors have taken to protecting the seals and Turtles, as they are endangered . With the warm trade winds cooling the Islands, and the slosh of the pacific's waters slapping our ancient lava rocks, it is a comfortable rocking chair to get old in. I read , write, and paint, sculpt, and swim, as age chases me toward the end of my life allotment.( OH yeah, and freecell.net keeps me sane!) , The weather here is truly , the best you can get anywhere on earth, .....unless you love icy cold , snowy, weather. And yet, we do get snow on Monaukaea on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Thanks again, Jeanne. Your writing is like poetry. It's good to hear from the locals without the spin of the gov. and right-wing media on how things really are in a given place. I would love to see you write a book on your and Mr. Bob's life before you are sent out to sea...as we all will be soon.

I am writing a book on our life together. the title keeps changing from :"I LOVE YOU MORE THAN LIFE" to "The GOLDEN TURTLE". i keep getting hung up on our back story. Our pasts were determined not so much by ourselves , as by our hang ups from what was expected of us. I had ugly alternatives keeping the QUEEN MARY" from leaving port. And mr.bob and I had kept our vows and lived up to our responsibilities, which kept us anchored .... perhaps chained to fruitless futures and unsettling pasts. Then my first husband died. When Bob and I met , all that changed. We sat in my old farm house where I had reared my and the neighborhood children. During this blind date, Bob and I sat and talked about what we wanted in our lives, for five days. Then he proposed, and we married two months later. He had been baiting me for the first three days, about where he was going to live. I thought we should "Shack up" at my house. HE said flatly , "NO!". i thought, "Heck, I've never propositioned a man before, and here he refuses." He countered with a marriage proposal. When I said ,"Yes", Bob said , "When? i thought , "Gee, we don't need a shot gun wedding, whats the hurry?" Then Bob said he had been seeing a shrink , because , he knew he couldn't go through a divorce from his first lady, after being married for 28 years. she had been cocking her leg for all of those years .. seemed she liked the attention. In any event, Bob made me pick a date. the reason being, the psychiatrist would ask Bob "All Right, you met this woman with all these kids, and you want to marry her after five days." OH YEAH, WHEN? "June 21st " in the back apple orchard.....It was a very funny session....Laughter and blessed wishes followed .

Please keep us posted. I will be first in line, well, on-line, to pre-purchase your book. I love non-conventional love stories. Wow, that might be a good topic of discussion to keep this db going. "How I Met My Other". Remember the hilarious saga that Snowy started that morphed into novel-like proportions?

Thank you hot nurse and TNmountainman ! My mother was a play writer, concert pianist, but she wrote religious plays. She would say ,"Sit down, I want to read what I just wrote". I would begrudgingly sit and listen....Then I would get into the story..." OK...OK.,"I felt ," I don't This is neat!." She would stop reading. .... "Mommy, what happened next?"... She said hesitatingly,"I don't know." "Come on Mommy! Tell me, PLEASE!" She didn't know. Sooo,. I decided to paint pictures instead of write my life and perceptions of life, then when the picture was seen framed, and on the wall it was obvious ,or so it would seem... to answer.... what ...?? Now I have friends and caregivers, who ask ,"Are you done, yet?" My recent painting of " Lightning!" which resembles Turner's , 'Burning OF Parliament", asked if my brush strokes were supposed to be bamboo. (Sorry, Mommy, people, and life are complicated.) ............................................ Bob and I decided to adhere to some rules of engagement in our newly formed marriage. 1. Passion, (Yep, you have to have passion!) Bobs first rule! 2. The Past is past! (Let it go, you can't change it. So leave IT alone!) 3. There is no crystal ball, The future is unknown.(Good luck on plans....) 4. Your feelings are your own. (NO one can tell you what you are feeling.) 5. You are entitled to your opinion, . , and that includes what you really believe what the moon is made...(This includes religion,.... this is your opinion. 6. Life is a series of problems. Figure out WHAT the problem is and work to solve it. ( But what is the PROBLEM?) Oh MY! ....LIFE ! Ain't it grand? 7.Take a time out to discuss a problem: emotional, sexual, money, communication, kids... (we always went away together for two days every 4 to 6 weeks. It was away from family , business, friends, to work on any problem.... If there was no problem, we just had a good time together. 8.....And we could negotiate! Hey! Bob was a great attorney, as wells a cosmologist. Fortunately , we were deeply in love with each other, and wanted each other to be the best they could be. ...I miss him so.

Here is a story of one of the adventures ,... Which we would take on our "4 to 6 weeks"....Just in case we had a problem to work out. WE drove to Kinzua, Pennsylvania to spend the weekend putt-sing around on a covered boat . The scenery around the hills of Pennsylvania is misty and moody in the spring. Deer brouse on the tender underbrush growing among the blue Spruce and Beech trees. Bob would take my hand and we would dreamily walk on untouched leaves in this bucolic scenery left over from the hard snowy past winter. Birds would be singing to one another. A Cardinal would show a flash of red feather as he headed for his nest. The purity of woods was emotionally uplifting. So the first thing we would do when we drove down to the docks, was to get ice to put in our chest , rent a boat, and then find a place where we could change out of our camping clothes. There was no shack to change in , so we drove my convertible out of the park area to find an area for enough privacy to change into our bathing suits..... A week or so before we decided to go on our little tryst. An attorney from Bob's Paris office had been at our home and had borrowed Bob's suit. The Parisian was skinny and ten inches taller than Bob.... no cares, ...He just tightened that old knitted string in a knot , to keep his suit up. We all had all swim in the house pool. But now we were in the woods of Kinzua, looking for a place to change our clothes. the time was about 8:45 am. on a sunny Saturday at the end of May. I spotted a place where we could drive up a hill. WE went. Fresh tarmac. No one around . I grabbed my suit from the back seat, the top was down on the convertible. ....Pulled the suit up under my T-.shirt. Took my shirt off. Bingo. I was changed. Bob took his pants off. pulled his shirt off, and grabbed his suit from the back seat. My man was naked, Yep, NAKED!. ...And we heard the sound of many motor-cycles roaring up to our viewing spot. Bob had his suit and was thrusting his skinny legs into the suit , OOPS!! STOPPED! ...By the shrunken knitted string ... " No worry!" say I. I grabbed a huge pink Maui Towel and dashed out of the drivers side ,wrapped it around myself , got on my knees, the passenger door now wide open, Bob standing, facing me . I am putting the knot into my teeth to untie it , so he can pull up his bathing trunks.. The cyclists parked around us , and were off their machines ! Bob is moaning in embarrassment..."HURRY UP!",Hurry UP!" All I heard as the men walking boisterously by, was laughing, "NO< HONEY,!!! SLOW down!"
