Today I finally achieved my fourth No.1 percent won rank, for game 6x10. My favorite game is 13x1, where once I was first, but I lost it, so I started concentrating on other games. Here is a short summary of ALL of my results to date: Best Games Streak Games Game Won Rank Played Rank Percent Rank Hours Rank 6x10 2222 3 2222 10 100 1 112.6 11 7x8 6929 3 6930 2 99.986 1 339.1 1 11x3 7175 1 7175 5 100 1 264.7 6 12x2 9444 1 9444 3 100 1 354.9 4 13x1 19505 4 19512 14 99.964 4 701.3 7 All other 38779 39172 98.997 ----- ----- ------ ------ Total 84054 84448 99.533 ??? 3686.9 ??? Has anybody else got some good results to brag about? Clearly, some players try to play quickly. I like to win. I like this site a lot, and have been playing here since 2004. Merry Christmas to all, T.T.

Although I hate to post this in a thread with this heading, since you asked...... At one time about 1.5-2 years ago, I was #1 in percentage wins in I think either 7 or 8 variants simultaneously, out of 'only' about 15 variants I was playing (all except 1 being a 12-sum or less) as either one of my two nicks, this one or tbirdie98TNmtn.man. Not so good now.....

Well, Tony, let me ask you this. It came up a year or more ago and I don't remember the answer, if there was one. I don't understand the interest in playing thousands of games with a win % of 99.9-100%. You've got nearly two thousand hours there of playing games that have a winning percentage of over 99.9% (for you). That's nearly a year's worth of 8-hour days, 5 days a week. It seems nearly akin to almost clicking at will, although I know that's an oversimplification. Just curious. Thanks for any insight you care to impart......

Hi TN, First, it is 'only' 1773 hours, which is less than half of my 3687 total hours at the time of first writing (it is a little more now). I started out playing exclusively 8x4, which I have played 3439 times and lost 56, for a 98.37% win rate. My best 8x4 streak is 218, which doesn't even get me on the top 1000 list!!! I found this frustrating! I gradually started playing other varieties -- of the 71 varieties currently available, I have tried 55. I am really not very good at the more difficult games. Also, I am 69 years old (and not very fast with a mouse). So, I decided to concentrate on some of the easier games at which I could be really good (but not the most easy - I never play the easiest games anymore). For a while, I thought 11x2 was "my game", but I have been careless and lost that one 14 times out of 8359 (=99.83%, rank 6). For me, it is not 'that' easy, which you can verify by looking at my average time per game stats. Finally, I guess it is just personal; I enjoy winning the most. Right now, I am trying keep my overall win rate above 99.5%. Next year I plan to try to get my 8x4 streak into the top 1000. Also, I may open another name to use for playing some of the more challenging varieties. Wow, that was long-winded! I have a similar question about people who play the same variety endlessly (like more than 100000 times) - why? I hope their answer is similar to mine - that it is what they enjoy. Cheers, T.T.

You started playing here about the same time I did, Tony. I have wandered around lots of variants using a large selection of nicks. I have noticed you, Tony, in many of the variants I have played. You are a good player. I've held all-time records in several variants in the past. I still might hold some today, but most seem to be gone. I've held the top all-time spot in winning percentage in several variants in the past, but don't know if any are still No. 1 today. I started playing 8x4 and always go back to it after spending time in other variants. I think I still have a few nicks in the top all-time 100 in 8x4. I have had over 30 nicks at one time in the top current 100 in winning percentage in 8x4 in the past. Still might have around 20 there today. Anyway, congrats on your accomplishments Tony. You, too, TNmountainman, as I have also tripped across your excellent handiwork quite a bit in the past.

):) I once played in a mini narrow, a theme in which I really have no business participating. Anyway, I got seven deals on the first try, & could only grumble at a 6x6 that I had to repeat, thinking it would cause me a chance at upsetting a couple of our better-known players. When I finally solved the 6x6, I was surprised to learn that I'd finished first. Checking the game stats, I saw that it wasn't the 6x6 that was causing problems. It was a 4x9 that I'd solved on the first try. The next day, I checked the stats on it, & it was still 59/1. ):) On another occasion, I beat two of our all-time best players thanks to a 6x4 (or maybe it was 6x5) in a mini potluck. It only took me two tries. ):) And in 2007, I won 500 tournaments, over 300 of them were quickies. ):o As of last summer, I decided to leave the tournament scene. My last two (playing as Luke_Duke) were a quickie that I won by two seconds, & an elevens that I had to come from behind to win by five seconds. I decided to go out on a winning note. Since then, I've only tried a couple of tournaments as Dr._Zhivago, since I was only played them for a momentary diversion. ):o Moo.

Thanks Tony I hadnt really gone from the 13*1 after I was splatted. I have fortnightly targets for all the variants I play. 13*1's is only 200 games. I have found that 13*1 was the variant most suited to being played at work where I get constantly interupted (well its work and that pays the bills so I have to accept that). For a while I had plenty of spare time at work and was easily getting 400 a fortnight in. My office has just moved from the city to my home (until the end of January) the moving process removed my free time. Now that things have settled down I should be able to attack again. With me after I crash you can always rely that I will come back and do it all over again. Good luck in your streaking - and everything else as well.

Hey Tony, I've seen your name around when I play those 13x1 and 13x2 variants, always far ahead of me. They're my favorite variants when I need something easy. 13x0 is very frustrating. I have the fifth highest winning percentage but I'm still outside the all time top 300 (my best streak is 84). Talk about the importance of the timing of unsolvable games. Overall my goal is to get into the top 100 of all variants. Okay, to be realistic let's say 90% of the variants because I doubt I'll ever do it in 8x4 or some others. My highest place, I think, is no.4 in 10x0 and it's very ironic because it took me just 19 games to get that high. That was some insane luck. One of my current best streaks is in 9x3 - I want to see how far I can get without losing a single game (I'm currently at 396). 6x7 is a similar challenge but I don't like it as much so I don't play it that often. Happy streaking!

My goal is to be in the top 10 %won in as many different variants as possible (currently 11). Good Luck with the 9x3 - I'll be watching. Cheers...

One thing I do remember is that I once held 57 of the top 100 spots, including the top six (obviously when rgk wasn't around) in current winning percentage in 8x4. For years I held 35 or more of the top 100 spots in current winning percentage in 8x4 all the time. Now, I don't seem to play that variant.

Definitely not bragging on this one. It has the distinctive of being the 3rd lowest winning percentage of any 12x0-7 that has actually been won (2/99 for 2.02%). And as of this writing, I'm 0/1, out of those 99. Not sure if I'll try it again or not. It has lots of play, especially for a 0-freecell game, but obviously virtually all lead to a dead end.
