I liked the way calico posted a decent result, let everyone else play, and then swooped in and took it back, rather authoritatively I might add too. Altho WRAC came in late with a very serious challenge. Fun to watch! Not gonna see me high on that list anytime soon though although I'll still play 'em. Today's serving, the tasty 12x0 difficulty 2, is brought to you by free@last. This variant is interesting. It's like 13x0 where that first move sequence is critical because you really need an open column before you can do anything else. But although today is the trickier 12x0 it's at very easy difficulty level so I'm expecting some solid streakage. Denny

now its kind of just like SSC and WWC... except daily... and less sophisticated stats i kind of liked the original sudden death competition but i'm also ok this latest although i'd like to see the same set of games played by everyone to make it completely fair I find that the tournaments are good for head-to-head competition but are biased by time zone. These full day competitions ssc,wwc and hotstreak deal with that nicely

I have a couple of ideas: 1) A handicapping approach. Top players receive a handicap of zero, and the rest of the universe gets added time based on their past performances in a give variant. If the superstar players average 30 seconds per game, then LunchBoxFred (who averages 60 seconds) gets twice the time to complete the challenge. 2) Competition levels. Kinda like pre-Covid baseball, you are sorted into different divisions according to your talent. The major leaguers are in the Big Show, the next tier are in AAA, on down to the semi-pros (who play after work during summer vacation). I played just one of these HotStreaks early on. I average about 3 times slower than the winner in a ridiculously easy level. I have no desire to have my head handed to me every day for no particular reason. However, I would be delighted to go toe-to-toe against others of similar speed (or lack thereof).
