freecell.net needs to have standards of representation, there is add for a walking program which states free for seniors. you go through all the questions then they arfe going to give you a plan then they want $17.99 for 4 weeks for a twelve plan, that total would be $71.96Thats not free. On the old system I had no Ads what happened to that,

thank you

We had some discussion about all this.  You had no ads before because were grandfathered in when I retired the Premium program 10 years (or so) ago.  When I did this whole reshoot I decided 10 years was enough ad-free and Premium isn't coming back as it never brought in any significant amount of money. Turns out most folks just want the free stuff.

On the web pages I recently started using Google ads which are the big boys now in web advertising now.  While their ads are usually moderately reputable, it is the Internet and you have to always be a bit suspicious.

The ad money all does go to charity so at least your freecell playing goes to a good cause.  Thanks for being a loyal freeceller all these years.

There is a market for both.

Judging by their apparent browsing history, some here would prefer the latter. Not unlike “game worn” attire from sporting events.

To the original poster: the internet is crammed with click bait ads that turn out to be scams just wanting your info. Even the so called news is crammed with garbage. It's best to ignore it all. Or look at it just enough to wise up. If something looks interesting, go fact check it to see if it's real or a scam.

A few years ago I looked at an ad for some medicare thing supposedly that offered $$. The ad was on facebook. It asked some questions then roped me into calling them. The woman on the phone started asking lots of nosy, and extremely nosy questions. I stopped her and asked why she wanted that info. AND SHE SAID "what do you expect when you're looking to get something for nothing?" She had also asked, many times, for permission to call me, and I had answered NO every time. Well after that stupid question is when I cut her off saying don't call me I'll call you. And after that, they must have called me 200 times. I never answered.
