If Tevo/Tebow didn't "beg discussion" before today, he certainly does now. I've been watching ESPN virtually since it came on the air, and I've never seen a set of their commentators slack-jawed and almost at a loss for words like Dilfer, Jackson, and Bergeron were tonight. They all just essentially admitted that it's inexplicable, after discussing him/it (the phenomenon) for close to 20 minutes. One could tell they were all thinking it was possibly supernatural, but of course they couldn't say that. 3/15 through 3 quarters; then 18/25 in the fourth, if I remember correctly. FGs of 59(!) to tie, and 51 to win in overtime? Wow and wow. Not to mention the two Chicago plays (one almost inconceivable - not going out of bounds) to even give them the chance..... I don't think there's ever been anything quite like it.

Yeah, well, this is a surprise if you weren't paying much attention to begin with or if you were one of those making a living by telling people Tebow was a talent-free moron. I recall somewhere that even one of the non-NFL Pick 'Em junkies on this board predicting all of this. Chicago has no offense. Zip. Injured qb, injured rb. The Chicago defense figured out Tebow and has illustrated to the universe how to stop him, but they spent the entire game on the field. By the fourth quarter, they were gassed. The Broncos are not just Tebow. Denver has a world-class defense and fantastic running game (even without Tebow). They have a formula that works. Tebow is an inaccurate passer and will never be a pocket quarterback. He does not panic and does not turn the ball over much. Now, PatsFan, is the real test for both Denver and New England. If Denver wins against New England, that will be something. Next Sunday at 4:15. Everyone will be watching.

Buzz, did you watch the Pats play yesterday?? I'd say we aren't tip-top either. We've been eeking out wins also... not all deserved, IMO.

Buzz, I am convinced this is the Second Coming. The Lord works in mysterious ways. (watch Denny delete this after leaving the other crap up.) Actually, New England can be had. Their defense is a sieve. Look at what Washington did yesterday. I think NE is one and out in the playoffs.

Although I've *not* been one of those poo-pooing Tebow, I predict NE takes down Denver. Sorta hope I'm wrong, though, just for the coolness factor of it. And oh, btw, the lone Chicago FG was, I think, something like 57(?) yds., so all 3 FGs in the game were for more than 50.

I couldn't believe it! Amazing FG! (I didn't watch the whole game, I only saw the one) TT is fine... his sideline stuff is his own business. I don't tune in for that, but I won't hang him for it either. As an NFL player: He's wet behind the ears still. If he can pull out wins being wet behind the ears, imagine when they dry up! I enjoyed watching him during his time in FL... Glad his career didn't end there.

From TN's Tebow I: "Tebow has even convinced some nonbelievers that more is going on than just football. Les Carpenter of Yahoo Sports, after ensuring readers that he believes in evolution, dinosaurs and the big bang, writes this: 'But I also believe in Tim Tebow because there is no scientific explanation for what is happening to the Denver Broncos. There is no other plausible way to make sense of these games and the amazing, miraculous way with which they win week after week. … It just happened.'" Yeesh. What a dork. Tim Tebow is one helluva football player. He is not a qb in the classic sense, but he brings a good vision of the field and the ability to read run defenses. He's strong and pretty fast. He's not the first qb in this mold, nor is he the first such qb in Denver's history who is a runner first and passer second -- look up Norris Weese and Marlin Briscoe. The difference between Tebow and Briscoe/Weese is size: Tebow is a moose. Going outside the Broncos we have Bobby Douglas of the Chicago Bears; Doug Flutie of a dozen or so teams; Randall Cunningham; etc etc. The Broncos are doing well because they are a good team. They have a stellar defense. They run the ball well. Their receivers are only adequate, so having an expensive pocket qb to pass to them is a waste of money. Tebow is perfect for this system. P.S. Jesus just sent me an email. He says he thinks Tebow is awesome. However he had this warning for the Denver quarterback: "You need to be careful about public displays of your religious beliefs. There are people out there who resent it and will crucify you." He signed it with a winking emoticon.

We're also in a dead zone. The NBA doesn't start playing for another ten days. College basketball is on hold due to finals. College bowl games don't begin until the weekend. I'm recouping from plastic surgery (mabb, firenze, songcutter sharpen up your backstabbing as I'm going to share personal info)for skin cancer on my face so I just have a local going on and the two nurses and the surgeon filled me in on Tebow and the Broncos, I'm a captive audience. The female nurse has dated several Broncos (Terrell Davis and Mr. Bell) so I'm getting a lot of the inside information. The dr was most enthusiastic and even apologized to me if I wasn't interested in the Broncos...anyway if you all think you've had enough Tebow, think about us Broncos fare weather fans. They agreed with Buzz as to the superbowl but they sure are having a great time as Bronco fans.

I can't claim this theory but I find it very interesting. I had a friend back in the 80s that compared the Broncos with the early settlers of Denver. During Manifest Destiny, the whiteman yearned westward for gold and riches and fame. When they made it this far west and looked up at the great snowcovered peaks they had to climb they started looking for the closest river confluence (Denver was settled at the confluence of the Platte and Cherry Creek)and layed claim "This is far enough!"

WarriorSheep, Are you so self consumed that you will someone to joke about your cancer? Not content with the status quo you have to invent fights for yourself? If you are lookig for pity look in the mirror, no one on here made a single joke about you having cancer. Hell no one even commented on it, well wishes or jokes. It could be that no one cares, it could be that even the folks on here who have nothing better to do than fight with each other are not even that low. Either way, as a sheep and not a leader I am sure you can find comfort in your flock. Follow the herd, most sheep do. No wonder Shirely tells you to get to work all the time.

You misunderstand: This is a dead zone for the sports reporting community, not for me. I record Sportscenter on DVR and fast forward through the crap. Normally, I watch about 30 minutes worth; this week, less than 10 minutes. NFL tonight. I'll watch that (with no sound) but I'll still be ignoring the Tebow chatter on Sportscenter.
