And each of the three Ronettes is only 1/4 black, as I recall. I was supposed to think that their race was something it's actually not?

Not true. I'm not the least bit ashamed of admitting when I'm wrong about something; done it many times on this forum. You specifically asked a question, and I was trying to honestly answer it. And I did the best job of that I could. It doesn't fit in what *my* understanding of a "senior moment" is. In no way was I trying to remember how to spell "Phish" - or any other word. I was leaving open others' interpretations by saying "partly". But it appears, by the way you define it, there was no forgetting involved.

Straight from wikipedia on google "The Bennetts' mother was African-American and Cherokee; their father was Irish-American. Their cousin, Talley, is African-American, Cherokee and Puerto Rican." As a child of the 50s and 60s with a b&w tv to maybe catch the Ronettes on American bandstand. I wouldn't go making assumptions! Lol

TN picks nits and twists things around. (another poster correctly and politely described this as "muddying the waters".) And it's a regular practice. Buzzclik on the other hand, just makes up wild lies, thinking if he puts it in writing, others will believe it. Both obfuscate the truth, Buzz especially if it involves a certain female poster. He obviously has "issues" with women, and certainly doesn't see them as equals. I think he's mad at me for figuring out his aliases, because he used to love "ganging up' on that female (myself) with multiple aliases in the same thread, before I knew it was only one sad dude. I evolve and wise up to these machinations. And he hates it so much that I spoiled his sick, sadistic little game.

TN also uses several aliases. Mostly harmless. Except that one that was created and used specifically to harass another player/poster because he believes it's cheating to use cards. That poster can hardly make a post without being harassed about it. Merry Christmas 2022!

We're so very thankful you've always been just good ol' "outskirts", Ms. Killjoy. :) But let me correct you on one thing. "That one" was created to beat Tony in his own game in the WWC - which was successfully accomplished - but *without* cards. Not exactly to "harass" him. It was to mock him and his cheating. We often hear that "the arc of history bends towards justice". May it be so in this case.

You did it today on denny's "playing from your phone" thread, at 6:59 Call it what you want, but what you say it is, is exactly what I said it is. Your fake "justice" doesn't justify your harassment. And you've done it to others too.

History, especially recent history, is replete with examples of successful struggles for justice taking decades - or more. Injustices have to be drawn attention to. Again and again and again and again. That's how change happens. I could draw some analogies, but that might cheapen some of the more important ones to compare this to them, so I won't. I don't know if this effort will ever pay off; if justice will ever be done here. Maybe not. But we each, in our own little corners of the world, have to try and make said corners better. We even know Tony, in his corner of it, does some socially positive things, and believes in environmental justice, for example. Probably acts to effect other positive situations. (Which is why it's SO confounding that he doesn't get it here.) We all have to pick our battles, of course. I've chose to continue this one because thousands of players here, including myself personally, have been impacted by his self-serving actions. But I mostly don't do this selfishly. My harm is trivial compared to the overall damage. I just believe strongly in standing up for right - wherever I can. Merry Christmas - 2022 and beyond.

Saying things once, is to prove a point; reiteration becomes something else. One's perception is just that, no one else. In all honesty, I thought that TTdoc was Tony's alt id, didn't think of looking. That's when I created the old/new TTdoc to verbally spar TTdoc. My apologies Tony.

That's freaking amazing. One in a line of extraordinary (non-?) such coincidences lately. Had a rather bizarre one Sunday, in fact. I pulled that Woolf thing completely out of thin air - or so I thought. Never read the book or even seen the movie. Really know next to nothing about it. That's crazy.

In retrospect..........I'm mildly surprised, too. Only explanation I can muster is that it's one of those below-the-radar items that just stuck in my subconscious way back when, despite knowing nearly nothing about her, it, or it. (And not being a "man of letters" like mrbuck so humbly is.) But why I conjured up that particular question remains utterly inexplicable.

I was gonna let this pass, but with Buzz reporting on the coincidence involving "Single Ladies" in the "really different covers" thread, I've reconsidered and will add these two further subsequent Woolf appearances: Friday, 2 days after previous last post of this thread, the final Jeopardy answer was "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf". Monday, the following non-repeat show, an incorrect guess on final Jeopardy was "Virginia Woolf". The correct answer was "Gertrude Stein", and apparently it was a quote. I did not personally see these, but they were recounted to me by a reliable witness. And honestly..........it's getting a little creepy.
