>>>Raymone-of-Bayonne: "BuzzClick, I accept your challenge. We both start with dead batteries. I will allow you any type of human powered generator to charge your DeWalt. :-)" Man up, Raymone! It's me with my Dewalt, two batteries, a charger, and drill bits versus you and your brest hand drill, with which you claimed that "you can put a 1/2" drill through steel with it." In the fine tradition of John Henry and Paul Bunyan, it's man against machine -- no limits. Two 1/2" holes through a 3/8-inch plate of steel.

Man up?? A real man would have said 000 gauge, not 3/8-inch.

Is it possible, Denny, to change the name of this thread to "(Mostly) Men and Their Toys"?

Mr. The_Interpreter: The steel gauge scale is standardized for the US. If Raymone is truly from Bayonne, then this scale may have been meaningless to him. (Actually, 3/8" wouldn't have been particularly meaningful, but such conversions are readily available.) TN: My cordless drill is just one of the toys in my toybox. I also have a cordless circular saw, reciprocating saw, and sander; an array of corded tools; super cool stuff with gas engines like mowers, trimmers, compressors, and deck washers; hand tools of all kinds; and two chainsaws (gas powered and electric). If you are insinuating that I am childish in my collecting of toys and subsequent bragging about them, then you, sir, are correct.

Oh no no no! Just wondering, now that the conversation has blossomed, if a more inclusive thread title would be appropriate. You know, truth in labeling, and all that. It's even possible other threads on this discussion board might be considered for the same treatment.

I've worked with just about every air powered tool known to man. I can take apart the interior of your vehicle, then redo it and put it back in. Only own a B&D cordless drill, which is fine. Love my ratcheting hand powered screwdriver. And I, Sir Mountain Man, am a WOMAN. Oh, and HELL on a jigsaw.

Note that I *did* have the "disclaimer" "(Mostly)" in my suggestion. You (and others of the female persuasion who can do "manly work") were not forgotten. Do you have any 3/8" or 1/2" steel lying around? I'm betting you do...

Oy vey! I just now see that I screwed up my thread title suggestion. Really, I did. I meant to type "(Mostly) Men and Their Tools", what with all the talk of dimensions and such. 'Course it could also be "(Mostly) Boys and Their Toys". My bad. But I see that since Mr.Fixit has already chimed in again, I guess it ain't gonna happen...

I typed "breast drill" into youTube, and found all these videos of girls swimming. I watched them all to see if there was any 1/2 inch steel; there wasn't. I may go double check just to make sure.

Yes, search engines can be dangerous and exciting. I once was looking for a picture of President George W. Bush with a five o'clock shadow (don't recall why I needed such a thing) and put "unshaved Bush" into the Google. The results gave me a completely new perspective of the potential of the internet.
