When the test results come back, possibly in a day or two, I'll know if the vaccine kept me from experiencing harsh symptoms or if I have picked up some other mild bug. In any case we all isolate here now until I hear back, so can someone go get me some orange juice, ginger ale, saltines, and this weeks copy of Bigfoot Sightings. mrbuck

I'm sorry to hear that. I can offer some capri sun's along with my Funk & Wagnall's complete set. I have been saving it for a good cause. The Bigfoot section is pretty concise, probably stuff you might have witnessed. ATW!

A "rockoon" (from rocket and balloon) is a solid fuel rocket that, rather than being immediately lit while on the ground, is first carried into the upper atmosphere by a gas-filled balloon, then separated from the balloon and ignited. [It can go higher due to less thick atmosphere, and somewhat less gravity.]

Some folks like to obsess over their personal numbers. (not me). If you don't see the relevance, then just ignore it, like I do. I can relate to your queries, but I don't care enough to ask, or to read the explanation, which is around here somewhere.

What a shame I arrived a quarter century late for having enjoyed Steve Miller as incipient musical juggernaut: The Mifflin Street Madman, as he was allegedly known as during his time (circa '63?) as UW undergrad (Comparative Literature major?)...dude chose the optimum path, sure...*still* legendary in the Madison downtown, when I attended...

Yeah okay. As a high schooler I copied that album cover for art class. A cover cover if you will. And, wore out the vinyl and the songs are imprinted on me over 50 years later. I listened to much of it last night, so I know.

What, no wikipedia quotes? Brazil is an old Latino classic been done millions of ways by everybody for idk how long. Been heard by all of us a lot, because it's all over the place. I purposely am not going to google right now, but come on. This "particular" version also happens to be the one in Terry Gilliam's Brazil, and happens to be the one I describe as a delightful little song.

Well, maybe not the one in the movie. But wikipedia says the song, from 1939, is like Brasil's most famous song.

If that version wasn't in the movie, it should have been. I'm thinking from memory, it was. But have no time for this, I'm digging the pit for my insurrection fire 🔥. It so happens I was having a beautiful bonfire one year ago and have pics for it. It was a celebratory fire 🔥. I will watch Brazil again

All fine and well............but give me some nice zydeco rubboard. This isn't the greatest example, but what I came across quickly. The Broussard brothers are hot stuff. I was fortunate enough to see, 3 times, the guy who was likely the hottest ever, but all I know is his first name, Keith. He was with Terrence Simien & the Mallet Playboys for a long time, but not *in* a long time. Insanely hot. Would totally take over a room. The guy who was with Buckwheat Zydeco for a long time was all over it, too. While usually used as a percussion or rhythm instrument, hung on the right shoulders.........it can lay a deep, infectious, almost entrancing groove. And while most peeps likely don't know this, it was actually invented by Clifton Chenier himself. True dat. Here's (fairly early) Clifton with his brother, Cleveland, playing said invention: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSRcxdTqNiM I know some here don't like the accordion.......and I just don't get that. In Lawrence Welk's hands, that I get.

All those cats were at the Ryman the night before that. We've talked multiple times about that conglomeration at that Byrds/Dylan/Neil thing way back when...............but as far as sheer amount of talent on one stage, this may have that beat, just in a different genre and with no good recording or format - yet(?). Billy dyed his hair some weird red/fucshia color for a while last summer. Clown. LOL.
