I enjoy this website and playing all the versions of freecell. I enjoy reading the chat as much as anyone. The WWC and SSC have been great competition. I will be taking a 'leave of absence' for awhile. The time of our cross country move is fast approaching. We will be moving from Virginia to Maricopa Arizona in mid-August. I will be taking a sabbatical, as TN put it, as we pack and prepare for the move.

Message:Oops, I meant to mention that 10x3 is "so easy" that most of the level 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 games have never been played, while at level 10, all games have been played, and ONLY 19 games have win rates <= 60%!! Message:Tony, looks to me like there's only about (roughly) 4400 unwon level 5 games. Further, if 72% of level 5 games had never been won, then streaks of 20 or more would be very close to unachievable. There are an additional 30 or so games that have only been won once, and yet have50 or more attempts. And looks like another 30+ with only 1 win with 40+ attempts.

Message:If one makes the (incorrect?) assumption that about 50% of the games are winnable (as per what the stats show), then to get a streak of 10:
.5^10 ~= .001. I.e., only about 1 out of 1,000 times would one be dealt 10 winnable games in a row. The total all-time streak record (11 by kangaroo) is only one more than the daily record. In reality, I would theorize that perhaps in the neighborhood of, or approaching, 60% of level 5 games are winnable. Not terribly surprisingly, therefore, that very few level 6 games have even been played once - something just under 100 of them, I believe. Even fewer level 7 games. Some of them were very likely from tournament play, judging by the number of plays.
(BTW, *if* one uses 60% as the winnables percentage, it very dramatically changes the chances of drawing 10 winnable games in a row -- up from ~1/10 of 1% (as above), to ~6/10 of 1%.)
