Message:It is sometimes my pleasure to peruse others' troubles. For further example, I happened to notice that TitanicTonys_deckofcards also had this stinky game:

watersmooth_silver had these stinkers:

And so on. Those 2 level 5 games with 0% winning percentage were the two most odious I noticed.
All that said, being "a deck of cards" certainly does NOT make for perfect play. Certainly with no hands to hold a mirror. So my sense is that TitanicTonys_deckofcards plays without being able to 'self-examine', which is to say without using a deck of cards, quixotic and oxymoronic though that may seem. At least that is my theory.

Whatever, it is indeed an admirable result!! I can usually play 2 games an hour, using cards, so 48 games in 24 hours is certainly not impossible, imo.

I have just looked briefly at Arheus's personal stats, and 1) Arheus has not played for more than 3 years (Last seen: Sat Feb 16 06:29:00 2013), 2) his/her win percetages on the harder variants are definitely NOT indicative of using cards, and 3) nor are his/her best streaks (his/her best 8x4 is only 120). I'm sorry that I ever suggested that he/she might have used cards!!!

Message:What really blows me away (and should make it obvious that Arheus doesn't use a deck of cards) is that not only did he/she win 48 games in a row in 1 day but his/her average time in that variant is 2:41! I added the exclamation point because that is ridiculously fast for that variant. My average time for 6x5 is well over 5 minutes and I have the next 2 best daily streaks in that variant, which aren't even close to Arheus'.

Message:i have wondered for a long time what happened to Arheus. That person was not only a good streaker but a good tournament player too. That's unusual here. I remember, too, *I think* chatting with Arheus in the old chat room and it seems like he/she was from a European country...maybe Belgium??? At the time he/she was running a close second to Mickyiw ...which was a tough thing to do. I may not be correct with some of this info.

Message:dcn, as has been discussed recently on another thread, average time per game does not in any way indicate use of external aids or not. What some do (apparently) is stop the game, set it up with their external aid, and then play it out in that arena -- then transfer that 'knowledge' over the the real game.
For example, Tony above says "I can usually play 2 games an hour, using cards....", meaning his average time/game should be on the order of 30 minutes, but it is far less because he stops the clock as he works his magic. That said, I strongly suspect Arheus did not employ such a method. I was just pointing out that average time/game (*as recorded on this site*) is not indicative of such a practice or not. I just remember he was discussed in a favorable light at the hotel and in some forums here, but could never recall details of such.
And hotnurse, I also think Arheus was European, but that's just a very sketchy memory, also.
