That Masters win certainly put CS on the map. Look at the players in the next six places! And, look at goatee’s time to 31 wins. I remember that 8x2 was discussed extensively at the old Hotel Netcell.

Yep, the chances of such a win being possible again (with a game having those kind of stats) are pretty slim, I'd guess. P.S. I've been trying that game to see how the CS manouevre actually unfolded, but I can't even get to that stage! /cryingemoji Will keep plugging away though.

Never mind, I just figured it out. The move looks so routine in hindsight - fascinating to think the game couldn't be solved without the aforementioned manouevre.

The mini-pot just now had a very interesting game, 6x3 17690-1, now 0/29. It seems easy at first but it's not. Still looks somehow winnable to me but I don't know how. Anyone else want to try it?

Nice job, Kaos. Hope you don't mind me asking, though - after you'd lost this game in under a minute the first time (not that I've been prying or anything!), what was it that made you go back and try it again? Was it this sixth sense for solving 6x4s that only you and WRAC seem to possess?! (Well done in the Threat earlier btw)

Hmm, I’ve always liked 6x4 going back to the first time I won a Freakout tournament so I’ve had lots of practice at them. So, maybe started out with a decent sixth sense for them and slowly improved it over the years by learning when my hunches panned out and when they didn’t. After losing this game the first time, it was clear that there were lots of different avenues of play available and nothing about it that looked like a roadblock (e.g. both black deuces buried deep). I guess the sixth sense is knowing when the number of ways to play a deal looks to be high enough to overcome the combination of low cards buried deep. That Threat was fun. I think there was a different leader between you, me, kenwa, and WRAC after 10, 11, 12, and 13 wins. I’m just happy that when the shuffling stopped at 13, it was the one time I was first.

From the latest British Open - I'm pretty sure it wasn't me who solved it, although we won't know for a while until the 'blind' data is made available:- 9x2-8 #10759 220/1 - 0.45% Not very often you see stats like that - congrats to whoever solved it during the tournament! (I'm kinda hoping it wasn't me, as otherwise this would look incredibly self-indulgent, which isn't my intention)

Wow! For non-tournament players, the British Open is both blind and deadly, meaning whoever solved this game: a) had one shot at it; b) had no advance warning that it hadn't been solved in 200+ prior attempts; and c) was playing under tournament time pressure. Remarkable. Anyone know who solved it?

Congrats on your win tonight! Turns out it was watersmooth_silver, who did it in only 2:48, very impressive, but didn't fare as well in some other games. I've burned 10+ futile minutes on that one, costing me a great chance for at least a top 3 place - and followed that up by throwing a sure win at the 12x0 twelve in similar fashion, so I'm pretty annoyed with myself right now.
