The Killing (Danish original version, subbed/captioned) was entertaining, with that distinctively dystopian ambience, but contrary to my expectations, I fell head-over-nether for the US adaptation (Holder and Linden), all 4 seasons (a year in the afterlife). Also, for those who enjoyed Shetland, Hinterland is worth dredging up if you can find it; not sure if you'd need it captioned - those Welsh accents are to English-GB as sludge is to treacle (delicious).

All great shows, I've seen them all and like them all. The US version of The Killing is great television. I'm also a fan of Broadchurch another British cop drama.

As a brief departure from the family book club, we are watching Squid Games, a Korean/Netflix venture. One of the keys in watching that one is to turn off the English language dubbing, go back to the original Korean, and use the subtitles.

Netflix lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of this year, and stock has plummeted 25%! There is TONS of free tv and movies out there, and eventually, it all comes to free tv. Right now I'm watching Longmire, because it has come to free tv. It's on every day, with two episodes on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. I was hooked from day one. Henry Standing Bear is my favorite. I've saved at least $14,000 since I ditched the dish.

Forgot to mention, Longmire can be seen on Circle, the country channel. I get it from an antenna. And (ladies) Henry Standing Bear is Lou Diamond Phillips, also A Martinez plays Jacob Nighthorse. Walt Longmire is the sheriff in a small Wyoming town. Henry is his best buddy since childhood.
