Message:As college football seasons winds down, this is my go-to site for college football rankings:
http://www.masseyratings.com/cf/compare.htm
It's an aggregate of over one-hundred computer rankings for college football and it helps explain outcomes of games - both recent and throughout the season - much better than the BCS standings. Consider the Fla vs. FSU game where the BCS had it close while the computers had FSU (with one more loss) ranked well above Florida. Or, this week's bedlam game in Oklahoma which also looked close with the BCS (9 vs. 10) but not so close with the computers.
If we could get the Vegas odds-makers to do a poll, that would be worth following. If Vegas odds-makers get it wrong too many times, they'd be out of a job.

Message:Neither Ohio State nor Michigan are the best in the Big 10 -- they finished third and fourth at best.
The site in the opening post is useful as long as some bizarre committee or a poll or a computer or an aggregate of the three is used to pick the champion. As soon as the NCAA adopts a true playoff format, polls will be used for intellectual exercises only.
