Let's have a dedicated thread instead of overloading the one called "question." Are we talking about two issues? Something about maintaining tournament mode versus maintaining winnable? To fix either I need exact repro steps. I've tried what I thought was the likely steps but not managed to hit it. For example, here's the kind of detail I need: 1. start a winnable game. 2. make a few moves 3. close Firefox (or IE or Chrome, they're all slightly different about their close behavior) 4. on the same machine, open Firefox/IE/Chrome and go to the game page 5. game reloads 6. note that the dropdown no longer says "winnable" 7. win the game 8. start a new game. Note that it is not a winnable game # Or something like that. For the tournament issue, same thing. I did winnables in 2010 as I recall so I don't think the winnable bug could possibly have been around 10 years. Tournament have been around forever so it's possible there's some ancient bug there. 1. I think you know this, but it is VERY erratic, from my perspective, and rare. Maybe once out of every 2-500 games (and then only when one is playing winnables). 2. The scenarios with which it appears are different for me than for the other poster I referenced (who I wish I could remember) Update -- I think it is Goosey_Goosey_Gander. See these two links: http://www.freecell.net/f/c/disctopic.html?code=13108&replies=0 http://www.freecell.net/f/c/disctopic.html?code=13006&replies=21 That second link, especially, really details the symptoms. (And those two links are both distinct from the ones I previously posted on that other thread. Reading thru that I think will give you the picture.) 3a. Until the last several months, I only played with Firefox, which is where it occurred to me many times. 3b. These last several months, I've used almost exclusively Microsoft Edge, and it has happened in that browser, too. 4. It seems to only switch from winnable format to regular; I can't recall it ever being the reverse. Pretty certain about that. 5. It is more likely to happen with a break in playing - which can be as little as 30 minutes or so, BUT, as I carefully and with great detail noted in some of those links I posted in the other thread (which I can re-post here if you'd like, or excerpt them), it can happen immediately, spontaneously, and without any discernible "cause". 6. I understand you want a reproducible "effect", but it doesn't seem to have one, except in the case of that "other poster" who noted that it happened to him "every" time he closed his browser and then opened it back up. And, yet again, it does NOT happen like that to me, at all. 7. I don't play (normal) tournaments, so that is not a factor (for me). It *did* happen when I was playing in the WWCs. Indeed, that's when it always happened to me, 'cause I don't otherwise play the winnable flavors (I again refer you to a couple of my detailed posts in the links in that other thread.) 8. I only play on one machine, so that is not a factor, either. 9. In one of the more extreme examples, which prompted me to post a screenshot, the game was a regular, but the pull-down was a winnable (as I recall - that's been a few years). I could *possibly* find that posting given time. Wish I could be more helpful. It's just one of those odd random occurrences.
