Yes, I think we can help. We suggest you drop the Microsoft version of the game, and come to the light - meaning play games on this site. SOOOO much better experience for multiple reasons. So much variety, so much......of everything special about freecell that Mr. Softy doesn't give you. You'll thank us.

If you're talking about the standard 8x4 game of freecell the layout looks wrong. However I've proceeded on the assumption that you've transposed the columns as rows. Using a deck of cards I can see why you asked the question. My feeling is that it is winnable, but I'll have to continue tomorrow (I'm in Australia and it's nearly midnight).

Since I believe you're likely not American, ElizDOne, FEMA is an American federal agency (Federal Emergency Management Agency) whose job it is to help people deal with disasters, mostly natural like hurricanes, etc. As to cheating, since you don't play on this site, you don't grasp that there is a competitive aspect to it (for many players). There are lists, records, rankings, contests, etc. It's a very rich environment, and thus why it's FAR superior to the Microsoft game you're (apparently) playing. So you should explore while you're here; it truly is *the* place to engage in freecell. Go to the "scores" page and begin your exploration.

You can "get your feet wet" playing as Anonymous while you check out the variants, Eliz. There are tough variants and very easy ones. There is also a group which are all "Winnable" if you don't want a streak broken by an un-winnable game. Some play tournaments for speed and wins, but others like to build streaks by playing carefully. Lots to do!
