Today the world lost my favorite musician Gordon Downie , the lead singer of the Canadian band The Tragically Hip. As a Canadian he symbolized what our country is all about and in most all of his songs that rang all too true. He sang of Canadian towns and cities, political and sports figures and stood up for the rights of all Indigenous people. I feel like I lost a friend today and at times today my eyes welled up with emotion as he passed away at age 53 from brain cancer with so much of his life still in front of him. I invite all those outside of Canada to have a look at what this beautiful individual gave all of us proud Canadians. RIP Gordie
