Subject: Most impressive streak that goes under the radar

Having FINALLY (and most likely temporarily) moved into the #1 all time position in 9x4, I went looking for another variant in which I could try to take over the number one spot. I was looking for a variant that wasn't too easy (not going to spend years playing one that isn't at all challenging to get over 100,000 wins) but also not likely to end a streak just by hitting an unwinnable (and for whatever reason, I don't want to do a "winnable"). As I scanned the folks at #1 All Time in the various variants, I looked at 10x3. benet's score is four times that of the number two person. I saw no other variant with that kind of separation. I impressed with it...like...when your score is 10000 more than the nearest competitor...how do you stay motivated? benet's is 45000 greater. Crazy! And I've never heard of "benet." Anyone else no this player? James

And one more detail. benet's largest daily streak in 10x3 is 67. So if he/she/they played their max number of times every day it would have taken nearly 1000 days to get the streak.

Another way to see it: his average time is 6:29 (or 389 secs) 389*63483/(60*60*24) = 285.8204513888888888888888889 So he spent almost 286 days to make that streak.

James, I used to like to play 10x3...but...for me at least (and I *know* that you are a seasoned and good player) it was a bit too easy and I would start day-dreaming while I played and lose on an easy game. Let me know how you do.

Oh, I'm not going to even attempt 10x3. I was looking for a variant that I could be all time #1. There is no chance I will pass benet. And I agree...the ones that are that easy just aren't enough fun to invest time into. 10x2 looks possible. James

Hey James, 10x2/10 appears to have 10 unwinnable games, whereas 9x3/10 appears to have only 1 unwinnable game! And, the current best streak in 9x3 is "only" 2041. Whatever, good luck!!!

But looking closer, 9x3 has an unknown but large number of unplayed games. How many of them are unwinnable?

9x3/10 only has about 1000 unplayed games, and I'm guessing that all of those are winnable! I didn't check levels 5-9, but if you lose before you get to 50, you haven't lost much, and you just start over. Probably you can get through the first 50 games in less than a day, imo. Well, maybe not -- as EZ-Ed3-LAnseMI, your best daily 9x3 was *only* 39.

Oops, sorry, my mistake! Apparently you have never played 9x3. Again, whatever, good luck!!!

I bet you can get to number 1 based on your 8x4 skill. 9x3 is slightly easier in general, and only 1 of the 32k level 10 games is impossible. But can you make it into the top 20 in best streak, win percentage, and average time? :-)

Top 20 in best time? Ha! Not a chance. I am a streaker. I don't have the guts to "lose fast." I went as fast as willing in 9x4 and succeeded in your first two, but am in the top 200 for speed. I don't see that getting better. With 9x4 it's pretty hard to lose so I was willing to dive in. Not so with others.
