They show as read (not bold) if I read them again.

I noticed the same thing but it links to a new page (https one) and those read by me turn to unbold. That's what I see here. first page: http://www.freecell.net/f/c/discussion.html links to: https://www.freecell.net/f/c/discussion.html So browser history has two pages when I click "discussion".

Looks like when you click something it first goes to "http" one then switches to "https" one and you have 2 pages in your browser history. Why doesn't it go to directly "https" one?

Ah. That's why my autopost isn't working. I knew I'd have to change it when he went to https. We'll be back in business Thursday night hopefully.

Yeah, the browser must consider an https URL different from a regular one, hence the fact they shows as unread. Regarding why discussion has two links, I bet that's because I have ads turned off on discussion pages. Lemme look. Denny

You get a popup when you win a game. If you click "view" you get 2 score pages one after another. First an http one and then an https one.

Ok, the auto thing stopped working on the change to https, even to generate the tables for manual printing. Evidently the Excel VBS 'add connection' construct is tied in with IE settings, which is so Microsoft. (hey, I wish I knew another way to do it but I don't.) Sure enough, I could not manually access either the scores or the discussion page from IE either (my usual browser, Firefox, had no problems so I didn't know what was wrong for a while), but when I enabled 'TLS' in IE I could, and then my Excel VBS program started working for reading the scores. Then, for posting, I also had to enable mixed-mode content delivery from ALL internet sites - just enabling it from my trusted sites, of which this is one - wouldn't do it. IE says there's some bad certificate content still, and it's blocking it, but when I tried my VBS code again it worked so good enough. I no longer use that old computer for general internet so I don't feel that much unsafer. Anyways, 11 & 12 are working again and hopefully automatic updates will resume Monday.

BTW, one of these file old days I'll try to port the Excel/VBS code, which is from Office 10 and running under windows XP, over to my 64 bit Windows 10 machine (and then I can shut that one down and only use it for say playing Civ 2 or King's Bounty or the like - I aint saying I do that much, but I like to think I still can when the mood striketh.) But I predict it'll be a headache, also a royal pain lower down, so I'm putting it off.
