What is signified by a green asterisk in front of a username in chat?

Moderators get the asterisk. At this late date, moderator is a kind of honorary title. Back n the day, 15 years ago, moderators had banning power, to protect the chat community from maliciousness that arose then. Not necessary today, though I guess it could be activated if the need arose. (As could .t and .w) (Oh, the fun of the dropped .t!)
