Subject: Any other Guitar nuts here?

Since my guitar collection is worth more than my car (even when it was brand new) I think I can safely say I'm in the guitar nut category.   I have a cheap car built in Asia, but I have nothing but Fender and Gibson Custom Shop guitars except for my Fender John 5 Ghost Tele it's not a custom shop but still a very cool guitar.  I love many styles of music.  I grew up playing only rock then SRV came out and I became a blues nut for about a decade.  Of late I've been learning some fingerstyle and jazz.  Jazz is fricking difficult, some of the "jazz chords" takes some real practice to get under your fingers comfortably then you have to switch to a chord that is equally as difficult as the last...I obviously I won't ever reach expert level but I have a couple of jazz song that will be in my repertoire  I play "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Stompin' at the Savoy".  Would like to hear from other guitarist, musicians of any kind, or just music lovers.  My favorite players that are currently touring regularly are:  Greg Koch, Joe Bonamassa, Marcus King, Jared James Nichols, Phillip Sayce, Joscho Stephan, Eric Gales, geez there are so many great players nowadays I could be here all night, so I'll just say Nighty Night!

Put "music" in the search window, hit "enter", and you'll see tons of music discussion.  Not so much technical gear discussion, altho there *is* deep musical knowledge herein - as well as an extremely varied universe of tastes.

Yesterday I posted this rare 1960s appearance of the Supremes covering the Beatles. Wearing pants and bowler hats.

https://youtu.be/ogzIpBr3kKU?si=XTgmf2h3-W2ytrWo

8 Days a Week ⬆️ and there is one of them covering You Can't Do That, another Beatles song

The day before that I posted Emma Barrett doing her version of Louis Armstrong's I Ain't Gonna Give Nobody None of My Jelly Roll

https://youtu.be/7K3sbjhIm8A?si=vOgMlxk5aaLTedKG

The last music I posted before that was 5 days ago Emmylou Harris and the Hot Band performing a cover of Chuck Berry's Teenage Wedding

Okay, I am seeing a pattern

If anyone wants to be my fb friend you can see these wonderful posts but you'll have to convince me you're not a freecell troll! 😊 Lol. I know their names.

I posted another video from that same Emmylou Old Grey Whistlestop show in the "old music" thread Mar 6, 2020, if anybody wants to check it out.

But, since this is (ostensibly) a guitar thread, and there's some top-notch soloing by Albert Lee...........here it is without having to go look it up:

Emmylou Harris & The Hot Band. 'Luxury Liner'. Live 1977. - YouTube

And yes.................that sure was a "hot band"........

HopDiri, that is an awesome video of "Take Five", it has been suggested to me several times on YouTube and amazingly I never clicked it...thanks for forcing me to watch it!!  The Flamenco dude was excellent as well.  I'm going to see if there is a Guitar Tab for "Take Five" on Youtube.  I wish there had been YouTube when I was growing up and I would be a much better guitarist today....you can find either tab or tutorial on thousands of songs on YT not to mention just general guitar lessons....no wonder all these young whipper snappers are so good nowadays, lots more resources than I had coming up.

Thanks for the tips on some great guitarists!

Cool, I love the Tele (guitars with just one p/u really rock!!).  What type of wood is that made from?  Very cool old reel to reel ya got there.  I'm not an expert on amps but I should still probably know what that Fender stack is....so what model is it, it looks like it might be vintage?  Nice, thanks for sharing.

That's a pine caster/parts caster. Cheapie I found on eBay. Sometimes single pickup Teles are called Cabronitas but sometimes 2 PU ones are too. Dunno. Anyhow very hot PU in that, if it had a Floyd Rose it'd be my Van Halen wanna be guitar.

The tape machines are a couple of old TEAC 3340s, my first tape machine, $1000 of 1980s money (about $4000 now) for a 4 track, no effects. Now this cheapo computer has more power than a state-of-the-art studio of that era.

And the blackface amps are old Fenders, a Vibrolux and a Bassman with cabinet.
