Yeah, that was me, CS. Thanks! That was cool to set a new record...and hang on to your hat...I started between 30 or 45 seconds late for that one! I was in superman mode, I guess, trying to make up for lost time. I've started WAYYYY too many short tournies 30-60 seconds late, and it's very often disastrous, depending on who's competing. ANd thanks for correcting that link to the vishna tourny, roo. My link worked only temporarily, I see, until that tournament scrolled off into oblivion. How do you get it to go just to that page, where it doesn't scroll off? Do you call it up by tournament number, and then paste the link? I've never known how to link it differently.

mabb, that's even more impressive. now onto explaining how to link the tournament. a simple way is once on the quickie (for this case), results page, click more results. from there copy and paste the url. then change the tournament number (last 5 characters of url to the tournament number (+1) of the tournament you want). you can get that number by hovering over the game stats (and it should appear in the status bar), or by clicking on the game stats of that tournament and getting it from the url. alternatively you don't need to use more results, but you would need to know the theme identifier basic url: http://www.freecell.com/f/c/tourpast.html?theme=XX&num=YYYYY XX is the theme identifier (works with or without leading zeros if it is less than 10). and YYYYY is the tournament number + 1 (have to go plus one b/c of the way it searches...does tournaments less than the number, not less than or equal to.

mabb, you need to click on "More results" to get the relevant info into the Address bar. Find the tourney number you want by hovering over "game stats" and then edit the address bar. However, the exact tourney number doesn't work - you need to have a slightly higher number. Note that I used 51307 to get vishna's 51306.

2 answers is better than none!! hmm, just thought why the past results works that way with the tournament numbers...I'll bet denny does it to make the more results link easier by assigning it the same identifier as that of the last shown tournament on the current page. makes sense...though a -1 and less than or equal to would do the same trick and eliminate the confusion for manual searching.

Hey, thanks to both of you! Now let me try a bit of practice on this manuever....I'm trying to link to the page which will show the AIO result that you noticed, CS (if we're talking about the same one, and I think we must be). So, let's see if this will work....

It worked! That's cool! One note though, for any others trying it: in Java, hovering over "game stats" does not reveal the tourny number, nor does anything change (for me) in the status bar. I'm assuming it's because I'm on the Java side, but I don't know for sure. However, I can readily find the tourny # by hovering the cursor over the box which has the Start Time/End time, at the top of the specified tournament. And then you still have to remember to add the "1". Thanks again, guys.

hmm, it wouldn't be java related since the results pages are independent of the game type. It could be browser related, though it shows up for me in both internet explorer & firefox. regardless, it doesn't really matter since you discovered that neat little feature with the pop-up tourney #.

Welcome back again vishna. I think I may have competed against you a few times back in the early days but not without much success I'm sure. Fun battle today. I was sure I was going to keep coming up short since every time I won one game after getting to 29, you had already won yourself. But, then once I got the 9x1, the endorphins kicked in and the 6x4 became easier. Nice to see that freecell wizardry looks to be similar to riding a bike - you can have a long layoff and then pick right back up (or almost). Hopefully, all your children are doing well.

" I think I may have competed against you a few times back in the early days but not without much success I'm sure." This has made me add some piece of code to find it out. I have added "plays" keyword which checks if the supplied name has played in a tournament. Here is the query I have used: Kaos plays vishna plays and And it returns the following for Masters: 70262 26024 27489 28075 32763

There are 44 won by calicokid if alternate nicks are taken into account: Kaos plays Dr.Bombay plays or WRAC plays Dr.WRAC plays or calicokid plays dr.calicokid plays or el_conquistador plays or and and calicokid $1.player equal-to el_conquistador $1.player equal-to or and

vishna, nice win in the Traditional.  When I saw that I was the second person to solve the final 8x3, I thought we would both be at 14 wins.  Hah, was I ever wrong.  You'd already smoked those other two deals.
