Well not in those I couldn't. I don't understand what you are getting at. You're lucky I opened this thread. I leave a lot unopened these days. Makes it easy not to open joey's.

Never mind. I'm sorry about that.

I am not clear if aprcosta is implying that beating Mastermind should not be difficult or that he should be beaten at all costs. For me this is only a minor recreation and I do not care if I repeatedly beat any one or am repeatedly bested by any one.Of course I do take analytical interest in some games and even post about them. Roo, as indeed like so many others here, is an excellent player and has got the better of me on many occasions.

Maybe Mastermind, but I'm only a tuppenny pop-gun. None of the top seven rated freakout players have played for at least a month and 13 of the top 20 haven't played in that time. Is there a mass boycott happening? Is WRAC's abstinance rubbing off on all of them?

Boy this contest is hotting up! Kaos and WRAC each solve a different 8x2 and now the race is on to see who can get the other one first.

wait a minute,I hope the other players don't consider it disrespectful that you are commenting on a tournament while it's in progress roo. I'm trying to see how when you do it it's ok but when I do it it's not?

What? I thought I made it clear that my objections applied only to *actual competitors* of that particular tourney making comments while it was still going. This time I wasn't able to play and therefore I was free to comment on an interesting development. Nothing wrong with that. I note that Kaos won the other 8x2 immediately after my last posting and I thought the 6x5 could fall (not that I looked at it), but that WRAC would do it. Congrats Kaos for proving me both right and wrong!

It was 1/107 after I first played it and decided to pretty well leave it alone until the end. Several other tough games, but well played Kaos! #7 6x5 was a ripper!

Joey, So you were playing 12 sums way back when? Did you create the competition to get others to join you? J

Heh heh. No, I don't suppose I thought of it that way, though in retrospect of course if you publish a stat in a room full of competitive people you are gonna get folks trying it out. And, if they are like me, liking it. It really just grew out of a little race ix and I had a few years ago to see which of us would first simultaneously hold a 100 streak in 5 12-sum variants. I forget who won, but we were thinking at the time nobody else had done it. The obvious extension is 6 12-sum variants. I hold out some hope I could eventually hit a hundred in 6x6. I think my chances on 12x0 are very slim.
