Then the amplitude of the forces from the bottom speaker must be slightly larger, no?

Hmmmm. If it's off a node, then it must be ever-so-slightly so. Looks like there are several gootubes concerning this, including this one where the transducer is slightly parabolic, thus giving a wider possibility of nodes. Bonus! Slinky appearance! Adds complexity, too.....

Link: parabolic transducer gives more leeway -- etc.

it might be slight, but think of it this way: if it's on the node it's getting hit by pressure from above and below equally so what is countering gravity for it to be in equilibrium?

So after tons of bs with pharmacies i finally was able to get a booster appt scheduled online at WALMART & I have to thank IX for the idea because frankly I wouldn't have thought of it. Now I am *TRIPLE VAXED" for my first ever flu, and pneumonia vaxes, and my C-19 booster. Suggested and applied by a sweet pharmacist named Scott. One of those trips where everything works out as smooth as silk, getting gas, and hitting the auto parts and liquor stores. I feel so awesome. Both Scotts are my heroes today. ❤️❤️❤️

Looking over this thread I saw mention of Peter Max. Met him at an art show in Winter Park when I was 15. We did a lot of great convo but I let him talk mostly, a small crowd gathered and we all were star struck. And I have him on FB.

😮 Also, I am thinking a lot better of Walmart now. Where else can you get three vaxes, and pick up Gatorade, cupcakes, and greek yogurt while you're there?

i remember the elevator across from the morse gallery, that took me up to the stamp store, had the word "otis", there was a scientology office round the corner. i stole a bunch of blinking lights from the trees on park ave, near the barnett bank, used them in shop project in wphs.

Max was tall, had long hair, and when he spoke he was super dynamic and charismatic. You'd have been in awe even if you didn't know who he was.

Awesome, looks fantabulous. Drinking game I made up: Watch That Girl, and take a drink every time Marlo Thomas says "Oh, Donald", "Oh, Daddy", "terrific", or "marvelous". Extra sips for multiples in the same sentence or breath.

I'm crazy about Marlo Thomas, but the character of Ann was a high maintenance, designer clothes wearing princess, even though she tried so hard to not let it show. A primadonna if you will. But I love how she never married Donald, and that was because Marlo didn't want to send the message that marriage is everything.

This is pretty interesting, altho because it's really 'speculative spectroscopy', I wouldn't feel comfortable putting it in one of the other science threads. It's not really all that dense an article, for those interested in astronomy, supernovae, and such.

The Cooper house on Young Sheldon freaks me out because it seems so similar to my old family homestead. Especially every time they show that outdoor shot. But the rooms in our house were smaller, and the closets tiny, and only one teensy bathroom before the first add-on. And we all watched the tube together.

Alec Baldwin says he didn't get parts in the old days because of his looks, but now it seems he'll get no parts in the future due to his ham-handed firearms manipulations...he ought to do us all a favor and suck on the barrel of a .45...(he was pretty good in "Miami Blues" though).

I've never prayed to the FreeCell gods...but I'm curious if anyone here has benefited from doing so? Since, if so, I might then engage in such (profoundly personal) importunities, even prostrating in abeyance for the awaited glories.

There was no audio on that video. I was thinking the flutter at the poles was due to the shape of the gear. Reading the paper says different. I don't see how you can get backlash out of a sphere. Focusing on the finer behavior, we observed that the roll rotation θr.n of the driving module quickly accelerated and decelerated when the MP-gear passed near the poles of the CS-gear. At these moments, the CS-gear vibrated slightly. Referring to (14), which calculates the amount of roll rotation θr.n using the inverse tangent function, we find that when Jn.y and Jn.z are zero, or the position vector Jn reaches the x-axis vicinity at ΣM.n, θr.n must be inverted in a short time. This theory is unrealistic because the true behavior includes a delay. This deviation between the theory and actuality may have caused oscillations in the CS-gear. This problem will be resolved by avoiding or slowing down the singularity area11 that are near the poles of the CS-gear or passing just above the poles without the inversion. Such an avoidance method should be able to apply conventional robotics knowledge.

I recall enjoying "Fury" "The Bugaloos" "The Great Space Coaster" "Zoobilee Zoo" and "The Bozo Show" (out of Chicago) at this time of morning (albeit weekday, of course)...play with the rabbit ears to tune in WGN for Bozo (approx. 90 miles distant, pre-cable, satellite TV)...I recall very much liking the character of Cookie, but being sort of creeped out by the magician dude (whose nephew I met later in attendance at UW-Madison, lying to him that I liked the character his uncle portrayed)...
