I love Busby Berkeley spectacles for the most part. This particular one involves tap dancing. Getting this many people to be in unison must have been a real headache, but the end result is something.

Just a question, not a complaint...........but on that Busby clip, do we know if that's "tap-syncing"? I would assume it likely was; seems like it would be nearly impossible to thoroughly mic all the dancers, or enough of them, with the technology existing at that time. Just a curiosity question.

He was nominated for the Oscar for best dance director for that movie. He also used one camera from what I understand, so the footage couldn't be edited. This was 1935 so sound was still in its infancy. This link is about Busby and the code.

I thought it was a giveaway. Too easy maybe. BTW, Tom Leadon, one of the original Mudcrutch, passed away last month. I knew them when they were Mudcrutch. BTW, this is from the old hometown. It says Gatorville, but no one calls it that. It's Gatortown or possibly Hogtown, it's old actual name.

We always ate at the Krystal because we never had any money. I've had the pleasure of eating at two different Krystals several times with Tom and others and frankly, he could be embarrassing in public. Also rode in the front seat with him driving. He talked about the back seat but we never went there. You could get a few krystal burgers, tater tots, drink and a lemon pie for like $1.50 Oh and that great krystal chili for those with big appetites like my bean pole friend. (she was into Mike)

Also been watching Leadon's solo set at last year's Petty birthday event in Hogtown. Five months to the day later, he passed away. Not on youtube. There is one on youtube where Leadon introduced Petty. Tom Leadon was a beautiful spirit.✝️

That's crazy. What was political in 1968 is now history - and has been for some time. It's probably 97-98% "settled history". Where's the line? Is discussing the Teapot Dome Scandal off-limits? The Missouri Compromise? The Lincoln-Douglas debates? The deliberations of the Continental Congress? The Roundheads vs. the Loyalists? Athens vs. Sparta?

Maravich was the greatest dealer of all time. It's so very sad that: a) back then there were so *very* few games on TV - and that's true for pro and college; and b) he never had a decent supporting cast around him so that he would've gotten more exposure in the playoffs. Secondarily..............yeah, Magic was possibly the best at making all those around him better (altho that's somewhat debatable), but MJ could take over games and just 'will' his teams to victory moreso that any other player. So I don't think one could confidently agree with your last sentence there. But of course you're entitled to your opinion. I mean............I think they only faced each other once in the finals with those two guys, and the Bulls won it 4-1, so.......... P.S. -- in the highlight video from Klepp's post, that first play where he steals the ball and then hits the J was his very first NBA game.

The Nationals 7th inning stretch is the Aha classic, Take on me. We all have to try to hit that high note. Most of us fail. TN the last time I was at Nats Park the roving camera man focused on our group and there I am, on the big scoreboard singing Take On Me, missing the high note and waving my 100ish year old cane in the air. To be honest I wasn't the only one in the shot. So yeah, there is a bit of truth in your post. mrbuck

This surprises you? College campuses have been exactly as you describe for at least 60 years in this country. Keep in mind that college-age kids are the ones we want to be malleable and impressionable enough to kill and die for our country. It only makes sense some would also be willing to use violence to fight authority or opposing views at home. As for the article you linked: it is certainly accurate, but merely reflects the divisions in this country. In many of the passages, you could replace “student” with “politician” and still be 100% correct. And, yeah, as the article suggests, be very concerned for our democracy.

It jailbroke very easily for me. Curiously...........just the day before(??), there was another article (don't remember source) about the relatively recent high crime and homelessness rates there now. It's all relative, of course. It sort of has a Sausalito-in-the-Blue-Ridge vibe. Or almost Carmel. Not quite as trendy-to-a-fault as say, Santa Fe or Taos. $12 for a smore? No thank you. That brunch at the Grove Park Inn, tho, is to die for - although the last time I had it, it was closer to $24, not $48. Asheville has gotten quite pricey, and unfortunately, this side of the mountain is following suite, altho not to that degree. One can hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway there, and enjoy a truly wonderful drive straight up to mrbuck's house - altho it'll take awhile.
