OK, thanks to redberet's Secret Elo Sauce I'm rapidly gaining ground. I'm getting about 0.8 points per play doing the 7x5 level 12 stuff redberet suggested. So that's pretty juicy. So that means, according to my calculations, maintaining my current games per day, and not losing, and ElGuapo not taking away Elo gains, and the algorithm not adjusting, I'll pass Hop in a little over 2 months. Yes I'm kinda pissed at Mr. Beret right now. Actually, it's my own fault. One was the "long sequence of planned moves where you put both red nines on one black ten" and somehow that doesn't work out. The loss I just filled up my freecells. But I'll be back! And quit peeking at my records! MrFixit aka Denny P.S. 7x5-11 seems more winnable than suggested by gamestats.

Well in spite of some, ahem, "set backs" I'm forging ahead. Thanks to your excellent advice my set backs now are usually resolved in a few games as opposed to when I would have to play 7x6-12 for 4 days to crawl back. However I may need to rethink my time table to overtaking Hop. MrFixit aka Denny P.S. yes, Hop, I'm attempting to be humorous. Because I will never overtake you. I honestly don't expect to climb much further up the Elo leaderboard, but we'll see, using the RB Variant you never know.

The current Elo ratings (mine included) highly inflated. Look at my graph. It's very chaotic until all the unwinnables were set to high values.

Ah yeah I took the easy pickins and pulled that king to let the ace out. But it's a much better line moving the two queens. I still got a wedgie and lost. I'll have to come back to it when I have more time. I'm supposed to be "at work" right now.

I'll tell you what works for me with this level, because the parameters seem consistent. This is not for your game, but the level in general. Never get the A if you can't get easily get at the 2. There's usually 2 equal cards of the same color buried under K. These are more likely to be 8-9. Then that means the underlying cards are dead cards. For example 8CS the dead cards are 7HD. That means leave them where they're at or lock up a freecell. As always, nothing set in stone, but it usually helps from going up blind alleys.
