Sometimes even when I know there aren't enough free cells and/or open columns I'll still click hopefully. I know it's not gonna go. It never does. But endlessly naively hoping I still click. And then I click Save and come back later when I'm stronger and click Quit.

Yeah.  If I've already blown it, can't make it any more lost.  And somehow it feels better quitting out of a so-lost-there's-not-even-any-moves-left than the other kind.

Wow. But I came back and won it. There was a red 3 in a cell and a black 4 at the bottom of a column. Duh.

It's harder to hit quit before I've run out any possible (useless) moves. Run it into the ground first, then quit. 😁

But then there is the rare save for later and come back & win it. 😎

I usually quit and move on. I try to tell myself not to play too long. I will inevitably get sloppy.

I've had quite a bit of success coming back to saved games that looked unwinnable. Sometimes I'd find some unique way to get some moves going.  So even if it looks pretty hopeless I'll save it out and give it another look (or two) later.
