I know - and that was just a few plays after beating that 11x0 rated (WAY) artificially low. Can one say the ELO/ELG giveth, and the ELO/ELG taketh away? I suspect that it's not really *that* hard, since it shocked me, but I don't rightly know.

Thanks for the clarification, Oded. I haven't been able to *begin* to keep up with all the changes, machinations, tweaks, etc. And that certainly makes sense. So that means the 0/48 game I won wasn't just somebody repetitively banging away at it. Looks someone else has since beaten it, too, but took a few tries.

Gotta admit I don't follow this discussion but I just got two 7x4-7 winnables which had never been played. I thought we had pretty good coverage in the 7x4 stuff. Seems like most I get are at least double digit plays. Btw tell ElGuapo the Elo was totally wrong on these!

Yes, that one can be solved in under 20s :-) It's also winnable as 9x1. I've tried it in different configurations too, it was interesting as 5x3 and 4x5, but didn't see a way through.

That's not the game's rating, it's just a placeholder. New games come in at the average for that level, which can be seen if you scroll down on the link below. Or you can always wait until 5 past the hour and it will update. This may all go away when Denny gets ratings added to the server, but for now that's how they appear. New 7x4-10s have an Elo of 1812.

In case I wasn't clear above I did manage to solve it. The key card is the ace of hearts, if you manage to get access to that then you are on the right track. Looks impossible with it buried beneath the two black 10's but there is a way. I thought the solution was quite unusual and interesting which is why I posted it. I think I did well to get it in under an hour.

Hey WRAC. That 9x2 is nasty looking. I thought I saw the opening (did clear a column) but couldn't see it thru. Perhaps I was looking to take advantage of the free column too quickly. In any event, getting that game in one shot is a fine performance.

Your 4x10 winnable is now 0/95. I'll take my turn at losing it tomorrow. The 6x4 may very well be unwinnable, as are over 10% of games at 6x4-5. There is no winnable variant there for free to choose (unlike when he treats us with 6x5-12 weekend fun, for example). I see that you also got a bit earlier back-to-back 3/51 and 1/50, lovely.

#8626-5 is 37-1 as a 6x5 so looks unwinnable as a 6x4. The low red cards are all buried at the bottom of columns 5 & 6 and there doesn't seem to be enough wiggle room to ever free them. It's actually impressive that someone managed it with 5 freecells. Hey WRAC, that 6x4 from the Masters turned out to be one of those deals that looks completely hopeless the first few times you look at it but then on third glance I saw an option that showed some hope and it turns out everything falls into place to bring it home.
