I got to see him here in the late '70s, and he was purt near as vibrant then as at this big bang of 3 Days of Peace, Love, and Music.....
(And in case some of you don't know, this song was improvisational - he whipped it up right there on the spot.)
I assume virtually all of you have seen the movie; if not, you're missing great musical passion, and also great filmmaking. I almost posted something about Alvin Lee when we lost him a few weeks ago. Yet another impassioned performance there.

Message:???! Alvin Lee died March 6th, this year. That's more than a month, but not nearly a year.
I realized from your posts you probably didn't know. That's ok.

Message:Wow.
This is not the first time someone has commented on the minor physical resemblance between Sam and myself. (I assume you mean Sam. Too bad I couldn't have gotten maybe 1% of his musical talent.) This was almost 42 freakin' years ago! All these guys got SOOOO SOOOO much better. Sam and I have spent tiny amounts of time together through the years. He's a wonderful person - a gem, actually.
Not sure if that's a joke or not about (a very young) Missy Raines apparently being in the audience (one of the comments).

Message:Do you mean his mando chops; his fiddling skills; his wit, sense of humor, and intelligence; or his visage? I can't judge the last one, but he's sure got all the others (and I'm still only assuming you're referring to Sam). And to think, we almost lost him there for a while.
I have no plans to see him anytime soon; possibly (though unlikely) in September.

But seriously.....I know Sam, seen him a lot. Many pics of him on the 'net, too. And I can look at myself in the mirror for comparison. Sam may be hot; me - not so much.
