Subject: What are SSC and WWC? How to play them?

Hi All, I've been playing in tournaments for a while but I notice that in a lot of the discussion threads references to "SSC and WWC" results and scores. Are these some other form of tournament? If so, how does one sign up and play?? Thanks.

The goodnews is, you don't have to sign up! 1) There is a thread 2015 WWC Reminder -- PLAY WEDNESDAY. that our very appreciated friend Tony updates each week on Tuesday that says what variant we are playing. 2) At 12 midnight freecell time Wednesday, which is currently 12 midnight US Central time, a new day starts and you just play the indicated variant. You get to try all day if you want, or any part of the day,to get the longest streak. Check the Daily page to see who is winning. 3) The next day, Thursday, there is another thread Tony updates 2015 WWC Results + 10-week Cumulative Scores. that details the results and the standings. Since only the last ten weeks are involved, in a couple months you can be high in the standings if you are good and/or have enough time to dedicate to playing Wednesday. The situation is similar for Saturday, again updated by TitanicTony. He does a fair amount of work on this project and I for one am greatly appreciative. In light of the collapse (for several years now) of the Ratings Crew's efforts in statting the speed tourneys, this statting of the streaking aspect of Freecell is all the more a key component to my enjoyment of Frecell at this site. Thanks Tony!! The WWC stands for Winnable Wednesdays, as all variants are winnable. For Saturday, normal variants where there may be unwinnable games are used.
