Message:While I don't need to do a tell-all like firenze did on the first page of this thread, perhaps a tidbit or three of history will help you understand my motive(s).
You, cellmate, haven't been here all that long. At least twice, within the last, oh, 5 years, Denny put up a link that was sort of a "who's who" so that we could all see who was what nick(s) - at least by web address. A tiny clamor was observed at the very beginning of that first "big reveal", but it didn't last long. Some (not me) obviously made a record of some of those nicks and have seen fit to do their own "reveals" from time-to-time. Nothing wrong with that, altho their motivation(s) puzzle me. The second time was much more recently, maybe (or maybe not) since you've been around. I think by that time either everybody knew who was who, or didn't care. So........you're WAY late to that party. So your revelations are *not* revelations. At all.
As to my motives for multiple nicks...............WAY back at the beginning, I started a second nick so I could play games whilst stuck on a game I thought might be winnable but didn't want to take the time to really dig into it to know for sure. A lot of folks with more than 1 nick have done that. It's the "gateway" drug into that dark art, or at least it was until ne'r-do-wells ruined it for all - like so many things in this world. EZED and I used to discuss that (multiple nick usage, non-destructively). He was near the top of scads of streaking lists, altho neither he nor I called it "streaking", nor did it for that reason (longest streaks). We were both about winning percentage, as this all should be, like athletic competitions. Not to be bragging, really, but at one point in time I had the highest winning percentage in 10 variants simultaneously, as I recall. And of course that was WAAAY before winnables were created.
Moving forward, skipping a lot of stuff, the SSC, then winnables, then the WWC came about - the competitions being great inventions. (The winnables universe being of the devil, as discussed elsewhere.) Tony took over the running of the WWC for a chunk of time, and that was a good thing. He had control over the variants each week. Altho not so in the SSC (because they weren't/aren't as conducive to cheating because one couldn't/can't know which ones were winnable), he was doing quite well in the WWC - like leading it, as I recall. He kept congratulating whoever was winning and leading each week, and often it would be him, so he was congratulating himself. Not *really* anything wrong with that, but it just seemed unfair and self-serving for him to be running the competition, cheating on it, and then congratulating himself. So thus was created "TitanticTonys_deckofcards" (I had to finagle various machinations to get one that would fit the character limit.) as an explicit way to embarrass him - beating him with his own cards, so to speak. And I successfully did that, topping the WWC after only a number of weeks, then retiring that nick as a player as the purpose and goal had been achieved. And needless to say, I hope, no cards were used in the creating of, or successful implementation of, TitanticTonys_deckofcards's winning ways. He claims he wasn't embarrassed, and that's ok; others thought it was funny and a nice coup. As did I. I think it made the point.
As to me using multiple nicks, in your post above...........that link was to the just-mentioned competition in question, the WWC. So......within that microverse, I did occasionally employ alternate nicks to perhaps push Tony further down any list for that particular day. That strategy was of very limited usefulness, and thus rarely employed tho, because, duh, in winnable variants, it often would take a lot of playing just to get one name high on the list, much less two. ONLY in that strict sense have I ever used multiple nicks to stack or crowd any lists. There have been times, and maybe even are times, in which multiple nicks will show up on the same list(s), but that's purely just a secondary effect, a by-product - collateral damage - of just regular play. I have never pursued that 'strategy' for any sort of name-up-in-lights glory; never for any nefarious purposes other than that limited time as described. AND.............................HOW is *that* shameful? Combatting a cheater is shameful? As if using multiple nicks in the WWC was somehow cheating or illegal (his ostensible defenses). When was *that* declared? As if...... AND...........................TitanicTony seems far more conciliatory?!!?? That's crazy. He's very clearly the most divisive player involved in these contests - earlier tournament shenanigans not withstanding, perhaps. (I'm not qualified to weigh in on those old controversies.)
Kumquat-of-Conciliation, as I noted earlier, was indeed a reaction to "Peach-of-Discord", a tertiary nick created by an interesting poster ("birdhaus", most often) no longer with us, unfortunately so-self-named because she was getting that reputation. And that was its noble purpose for a long time. (And, just fyi, 'he' got very good reviews early on.) He did gradually evolve into a sort of "Greek chorus", trying to set the record straight in certain disagreements; trying to bring a factual evaluation to contentious discussions. But that was (obviously) at best partially successful, as Mr. Kumquat clearly has his own opinions and sense of integrity.
Mostly, tho (other than above), my alternate nicks have been used for humorous purposes. (firenze's work has probably been better, but with more misfires, more line crossings, and *many many* more attempts. Just MHO. And he'll never read this because he hates my long posts, so...........'no harm, no foul'.) Have some attempts fallen flat? Of course; but I would argue there's been considerable "good clean fun" all along the way. I've never tried to abuse the capacity of having multiple nicks to cause any harm to anyone. Only to Tony's actions. I don't wish him any personal harm whatsoever. As I've said before, he seems like a fine fellow other than his actions on this site.
Ok, sorry to make this so long. I guess it turned out to be a "tell-a-lot", if not a tell-all.

You should consider using aids. TT (and others, G_G_G, PudongPete?) have been very successful.
AND, we all have Denny's permission!
But, we are all here to have fun. Some players are trying to play in less than 1 minute.
Others play only 8x4. It's there choice!
Btw, there are very few losses using cards. Re-playing a deal takes at least 30 mins, so I don't have time for a lot of those!
Btw2, why don't you start a campaign against multiple nics?
Denny seems to me to be much more offended by multiple nics than by the use of aids.

I refuse to get back into the debate about the use of external aids, but do you really want to go down the rabbit hole of only one nick per human? You'd be forced to choose just one of your (at least) two names that you use to trumpet your accomplishments.

What I personally don't understand...........is that you can't realize that you're somewhat destroying (certainly vastly undermining) the fun for others. Can you truly not grasp that fact? You're simply putting your enjoyment above that of ALL others. And we all know the word for that. Does that not bother you even a tiny bit? And I'm genuinely asking that.
