Message:There we go! It's (nearly) infinitely preferable to see what happened the last time a variant was played. With these two posts in consecutive order, close together, it should be clear. However, my previous attempts to get support for the "last time" display haven't achieved much acknowledgment, so.........maybe it's just me.
[For me, it's still very laborious to try and see, say, the previous 3 or 4 iterations of play in any variant on Hop's page, without a "back" button - to re-state the 'problem'. No need for you to respond, Hop, unless you have a new way to 'splain that 'problem' to me; this is for the others who can now easily see which display method they prefer, if anyone else wants to weigh in with an opinion.]

They seem innocuous at first glance, but as I think you all know, I'm pretty leery of "all that stuff". And Hop, I know this is as frustrating for you as it is for me. What I've thought about doing is trying to take a screen shot at each step of the way, and posting them all in sequence. That seems like a lot of work/trouble, but I may do it. I've described it in the past, but I do think we're seeing different things on your page(s). And to be clear, since nobody else seems worried about it........this is not a complaint, per se. But I am continually amazed that everyone else prefers the 'new' format.

Actually I meant what you want in general not in my page. Describe it in general. What steps would be reasonable for you to make you content?
For example:
- select a variant
- select/locate a week
- inspect the selected week
In my page, that's just what it is. Do you want to achive it in less than those steps? I am not sure how it can be done though.
Or does it take you more steps than described above by me?

Message:Allright, let me try again. I'm going thru the process in another browser tab as I type this. I'm sure the first step is obvious - just clicking on the hyperlink to get to your page. Then likely the second step is identical, altho you have it listed as the first step in your list "select a variant". For me, that involves choosing the variant from a long, horizontal string of variants, which I believe(?) is set up to begin with the current upcoming one, in this case 10x1. I suspect so far we see it the same way. No problem; and so then if I click on "10x1" (Remember, at first I didn't realize that was clickable, but now I do. It doesn't 'appear' clickable in the manner most hyperlinks do.) And then a box appears, with a retro-list of the most recent 10 or so dates that 10x1 has been played. In this case from 10-Feb-2023 ------> 08-May-2020. And it's pretty obvious each of those is clickable, due to the different color, altho hovering makes my cursor change configuration, which is weird, but fine. So I can click on any of those dates, and I will see the results for that date. Then comes the problem...........
Let's say I click on the one at the top of the list, 10-Feb-2023. It indeed brings up that list in your standard format. BUT THEN..........if I want to back up in time, and see each of the iterations before that SSC (for example the next one back, 07-Oct 7-2022), I can't go backwards to that "box". There is no back button on the browser; there is a 'hand' icon on your page, but it only works on the weeks in the horizontal list which are the consecutive weeks of ALL variants. For example, if I click on the hand at this point in time, it takes me from week 59 to week 58 - which is the previous week's 7x5. There's no way to get back to that list in the box, without closing out the tab and starting over. If I click on "Variants", it gives me another horizontal string of variants, with the "10x1" highlighted, but no way to maneuver/choose dates. Seems like more than once I *exhaustively* tried the various choices in a vain attempt to 'find' (get back to) that box again, to no avail. I'm not trying hard tonight, because I just don't want to invest more time in it, as I think it would again be futile.
So....................comparing that to your sequence of steps above...................I can't find a way to examine multiple past weeks without closing the browser tab and starting over by again clicking on your link - and then selecting the *previous* iteration of that variant. Hope that all makes sense. So maybe it's the same as your list it, but you leave out the last, important step, of being able to maneuver between different weeks of the same variant. That's why I'm frustrated by no "back" button, either on your page, or on the browser.

When you click on the hand you should go to previous/next week of the displayed variant. For example, I go to 41 (if I click the left hand) or to 77 (if I click the right hand).
Maybe you don't have the latest code downloaded to your pc. That may be the reason. When you select "Info" tab, do you see something like the following?

Did you change your code? Because about Sunday night, it changed to what you wanted to happen. I made no changes, but sometime over the weekend there was one of those aggravating MS unavoidable updates, and after that I began to see the same thing you wanted me to. Obviously.................when I wrote the long-ish post above, outlining the steps as I was going through them, it wasn't working as intended, because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to report that the hand took me back to week 58 from week 59 (the previous week's 7x5). So.......something changed, and I'm glad for it. And it seems to be working now, too. This makes it MUCH easier. I'm only wondering if you changed your code - or what?? Thanks for your efforts and patience. I hated to be a bother, but it just didn't make sense.

No I didn't. If you see "Version: 13 (5-Feb-2023)" in info tab you should be fine. Sounds like there was something wrong on your end.
Or maybe it was that MS update that had an impact. Glad it's working for you now.

Message:have a quick question abt these competitions..
I’ve never done it with other comps before, but because I play this variant a lot for elo at custom levels, after breaking from a high level today bc I wasn’t on my game and was losing quite a few, I noticed when I switched to level 6 these still added to my streak for the competition.
I remembered abt the comp and so switched back to 10 x1s random, played a while, lost, then must’ve still had the tab up for 10x1s lvl 6, and so played some of those some more.
They add to my streak and I don’t want to cheat if that’s not kosher to do.
Is playing random games the only allowed way? Or is customizing to lvl 6 or higher ok?
If not, while customizing, I haven’t made over my streak earlier which was 13, and that was def set to random bc I didn’t start playing again for a while later, which is when I just sort of instinctually did custom.
If it’s not cool to do that, I’ll close out my current streak, go back to random, and keep trying to beat my 13 from earlier. But most of the random ones I was getting were lvl 5 anyway, so just curious.

I didn’t mean higher necessarily, I guess that’s why I was worried bc if I had it set to 6 where if I hadn’t had it set that and wouldve gotten dealt a lvl 8 or higher, didn’t know if it’s fair, and I didn’t want to be sketchy.
But then I thought abt it and I figured 1) there’s no way to rlly control that w ppl even if it were a problem, unless y’all made some sort of comp format, and 2) I suppose the spirit of the comps is just streaking in general, and not rlly dependent on lvl. Anyway for now I’m doing reg random, but I may go back to custom later, idk, bc at least you know what to expect (for harder lvls you can assume tricky moves usually, but sometimes w easier ones I assume it’s harder and err bc of it) idk if others customize for comps, but it’s not like I could choose lvl 1 or anything anyway

Message:The most games you can play level 6 in streak mode is 20. Then you have to play at least level 7 to 30 and so on. Play above your level counts but not below. It's automated, so you can't choose level 6 if you have a streak of 20.

I thought when you click 10x1 from menu, that it gives various levels of difficulty. Is that incorrect?
If so, it’d explain why, when playing random today, I’ve seen only lvl 5s when I’ve taken the time to notice.
(some of these things I don’t know mostly bc I forget to notice. I have a quick trigger finger w this game and so often even if I want to stop to play a tourney or check game stats after play or something, I’ll accidentally start a new game on instinct before I can)

when you say above lvl, you prob meant the lvl I’ve had it customized to for the 20 hypothetical games. Meaning after 20 games lvl 6, I could only play lvl 7 or higher. I thought you meant the random generator, not customized, gives me deals at a specific lvl based on my elo.
If you did mean the latter tho, lmk, bc I I def don’t know that if so.
If not, I see what you’re saying abt 20 games. Didn’t know that either but will know for future, tho I may just stick with random (and prob won’t hit over 20 anyway, bc I rarely streak these v high, but then again ya never know)

Message:Progression in levels 5-10 is 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 50+. So if you play normally, you'll only play ten of each level until level 10. In these contests, it doesn't pay to start at a level with more unwinnables.
