Subject: 6x5 long streaks - or other recent ones of note?

Seeing the Streak Rankings Uberman just posted............I see that Hop has one of 53 as he rules 6x5 - which is now second only to CS's 62.  Impressive.  But CS also ran off a streak of 51 - in one day - more than 11 years ago.  I don't recall if that was part of the 62 or not; perhaps some here do.

(Sorry if there was a better thread for this.  I scrolled back over a year trying to find a 6x5 thread that was not one of the weekly contests.  Sure wish Denny would make the search function work for numbers, like it sometimes used to.)

Tis indeed an absurd (the good kind) daily streak for 6x5, and some 20 more than anyone else has ever achieved. I think winning ten 6x5 level-10s in a row would take me about a week (even without using cards) so I think this is definitely one of the top-tier daily bests.

Pretty interesting that it's a longer streak than the 6x5 winnable daily best, also. I remember Hop's effort - he'd just lost his streak of 77 and then rattled off those 48 with an average time of about 2 minutes. Fairly certain that this took his streak up to 50 so I'm assuming he stopped intentionally and didn't go for the daily record(?)

Yeah, I meant to also point out that it (CS's) was 20 more than second place, but forgot by the time I wrote out all that parenthetical stuff.........so thanks for pointing that out.  Kaos was that 31, along with a 30, and Mastermind also rang up a 30 -- all even earlier than CS's 51.

And oddly, that n'er-do-well smelly appears to have the highest since CS's feat, with a paltry 27 almost 4 years ago.

Recall micky once said that all 6x5s should be thrown down a well.

Lol maybe, but I'd probably get bored of throwing them down there after about 51 or so.

That was 6x5w. I lost my 6x5w and went for 48, which is a tied daily first with Arheus.

Looking at the VoK for 6x5 brings back memories of the days when I had the patience and skill to be a good streaker.  I was always more partial to 6x4 but would frequently switch to 6x5 when I would find 6x4 deals where I needed just one more freecell to crack it.  After a few years starting to get good at 6x5, CubicSprock and I started a friendly back and forth for the longest daily streak.  He had held the top spot for just under four years when I finally bested it to 30 and then to 31 a year later.  When it finally came out on the discussion board (around the Ides of January, 2013 that he was no longer on top), he launched into attempts to reclaim the top spot and succeeded (wildly) with that 51 game streak.  After that, I raised the white flag 🏳️.
