How often to you play Freecell? Whereabouts do you live? Do you have a system for telling when the dishes in the dishwasher are dirty?
MrFixit aka Denny
Denny,
I come in here to play 9 x 5 every day for years and years now. You have provided me with soooo many hours of entertainment for such a long time and I want you to know how much I appreciate you.
I live in southern Oregon. I live alone and have one of those half size dishwashers, so it only gets run once a week. I've found that I am a bowl person. Hardly ever use plates for anything I fix. I can tell when it's time to empty it when the door is latched tightly. The only time it's like that is when it was run.
Many blessings to you and thanks again for Freecell.net. Kelli O'Reilly (Wyobeginner)
Hey Denny, question for you....Do you have any recorded data from Freecell.com ??
I was curious about when I joined your great website, back in the Freecell.com days...before you switched everything to Freecell.net. I bought my first computer back in 1997, but didn't know about your website until around 1998, I think. I used to play the MS version that came loaded on the computer.
I just have some usage data from back then. And of course our All Time stats include those years.
The transition to freecell.net in about 2007 was actually amazingly smooth in terms of usage.
Looks like we're about about 3/8 of where we were traffic-wise back then but now there is so much more to compete with on the Internet. Still someday when I retire from the Pesky Day Job I'll try to figure out how to get this site back up in the search rankings and maybe we'll pick up a few more users.
Another factor is the Freecell is a kinda an older person's game, kids all wanna play Clash Royale or Fortnite. And sad to say death is slowly eating away at our user base too.

Hi Denny,
My name is Bruce and I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed playing this game for over a decade. I play every day and only miss days when I am away from home on vacation. I live in Ventura California and have chimed in on a few discussions but have mostly been a lurker (I think that what it is called when you often read but don't participate?). Denny, I can't thank you enough for taking care of this site for the good of mankind. The challenge of no 'back' button makes you think many moves ahead and it keeps my brain exercised. Watching everyone's stats is also fun. It truly feels like all the regulars on here are kind of family, so hello to everyone!
I took this picture with my phone, at home yesterday. I don't have a dishwasher.
outskirts - to really get a sense of who you are could you post a picture of your truck?
I installed my dishwasher and the best thing I did was take to take it out. If I want to know if I have dirty dishes, I just look in the sink.
16803 games of 11x0 tell me I'm not a good 11x0 player but still I persist.
We have dishwasher but I never touch it.
I'm the Captain. Live on the western end of the greatest lake.
Empty the dishwasher if the clean light is on while I wait for the morning coffee to steep.
And I don't have a truck> Several boats though.
Usage stats graph - yes, those were the days when there were more than 80 players in the Masters tournament!
Pre freecell I rented a unit for six months with a dishwasher. Never used it - waste of good space. They could have provided an ironing board. I had to use the kitchen table!
I’ll play along.
My wife used to play and I used to make fun of her for playing. I got curious one day about it and signed up, never thinking I would stick around and here I am. This game is my getaway from life, so I stick (right now) with the easy games that don’t take a lot of thought. 11x5 is my go-to. I care-give for my wife now, so I need an escape.
We live in the Sunshine State, married 41 years today. And, I have a Maytag that actually says CLEAN on the dishwasher screen. Greatest thing ever.
My dishwasher has a little light near the top of the door. Amber when it's running, green when the dishes are clean.
I had a house in Naples in my 20s. It came with a dishwasher. It also had a tree in the screen porch. That has nothing to do with this except that it was a very cool feature of the house. Well, it was an old timey dishwasher of which I knew nothing. I loaded it up and ran it. Later realized no water in it. Huh, what? The thing was supposed to be wheeled out from under the counter top, taken to the sink and then hooked to the faucet. Lol. I didn't kill it, and it worked fine after that.
