When they first had that foundation for a better life ad with you fill up my senses playing as they plowed through the ocean underwater on the part "like a sleepy blue ocean" I was absolutely horrified!!!! I am a very sensitive person! Maybe someone else noticed it because I haven't seen it that much since. Bad bad bad. Just horrible.

They must have radically modified the ad from when you first viewed it. The ad residing in various places on the 'net these days seems pretty benign. Can you describe what was "plowed through the ocean underwater"?

I guess it was his stint on the brady bunch that brings that out in me. I had a buddy way back who said he and his fellow country boys would break out in tears when they heard "country roads" when they were in Nam. Whilst I might not want to see a country boy cry, he did bring comfort to those who did.

Listening to the news reminded me about this Ukranian I met Feb 2020. Apple had pulled his and a lot of other's workers visas. So, he had to sell his car, which is why I met him. I felt bad for him, so I gave him a 9er beanie I'd just bought as a reminder and a souvenir. After the fact, it was good he made it back home to his family before all the travel restrictions. We both knew what type of world he was headed back to. I hope he's doing okay.

Nice to see some current events being mentioned, with numerous comments about Putin and Ukraine. Now how about some discussion. My short assessment of a few issues of the past 34 years - if you disagree that these are the things we have done and/or disagree that we are heading in a bad direction, please discuss. 1. 30 trillion in debt for which we have nothing to show, except the interest bills that continue to show up every quarter and the face-value-payments due when treasury bonds reach the end of their interest-bearing lifetimes. We continue to borrow more money every year to pay off the interest on our outstanding treasury bonds and other debt instruments, while never paying off any of the principle. So we add more debt every year. Trillions in 2008 and 2009 and subsequent years to fund the We don't print money to pay our debts... if we did there would be no debt, but if we had printed money to the tune of what we have "borrowed" from the Fed, we would have horrifically devalued the dollar, causing a myriad of other economic woes... that we keep putting off by borrowing more and more money from The Fed. The Federal Government gave up the right to print money in 1913. We borrow money from The Federal Reserve, which is not federal and it is not a reserve. It's a quasi-government organization that is actually an independent corporation (so says the charter). Presidents get to appoint regional reserve bank presidents and the chairman... but the fed acts independent of govt influence or controls. They order the Treasury to print the money which declares right at the top that this is a "Federal Reserve Note", while bills printed before 1913 clearly identify the paper as belonging to the USA government. Doomed by debt... unless we order the Fed to buyback all outstanding Treasury Bonds at face value with no interest considerations other than what has been paid so far. Protect American assets, real estate and businesses from purchase by the flood of loose dollars this will cause. Return printing of money and control of the economic tools to the Congress, as outlined in the Constitution (there would be great numbers of technical details to work out to do this, but it gets us out of debt, and the $300 billion or so in interest we pay every year goes away). 2. Trillions to fight a virus that's part of a group of viruses partially responsible for our recurring/returning bouts of head and chest colds (caused also by rhino viruses). And we appear to ready to admit that SARS-CoV-2 is never going away (like head and chest colds and the flus). And the CDC says no masks now, while new variants keep popping up. WTH?!?! That's "H" for "Heck" And on September 17th 2021, Biden signed an Executive Order adding measles to the list of quarantinable diseases... so don't put your masks away yet and stock up on everything. A measles pandemic/quarantine/essential-businesses-only/schools & churches-closed/ETC! is now a possibility. And why add measles to the list of deadly diseases such as Ebola, Yellow Fever, Infectious Tuberculosis and other TRULY deadly diseases, if you are not planning on calling for pandemic reactions to a measles outbreak? The other not-so-deadly diseases on the pandemic list are the flu and "any SARS-like illness"... Measles, flu and "any SARS-like illness" obviously do not belong on the list of deadly diseases requiring the expenditure of trillions of dollars (most going to drug companies or healthcare). We do not need to go through that wasteful exercise again. Did you know we are still going through Quantitative Easing? The last borrowing the government did was for $700 billion to go to businesses that lost money or had toxic assets as a result of the 2 years of COVID pandemic restrictions. I didn't know about that one!!! 3. Trillions to fight un-won wars and un-sustained peaces out of those wars... while we left multiple middle eastern countries in pieces. We generated waves of millions of refugees that pressured Europeans to close their borders and bribe the Turkish government to close their borders to emmigration. Aid payments of over $6 billion Euros were promised to Turkish president Erdogan, with promises of accelerated consideration for membership of Turkey in NATO. The EU sanctioned turning desperate men/women and their children, back (in the middle of the Mediterranean) and delivered them to horrific futures into the hands of their waiting oppressors. And yes, we Americans are responsible for that too. 4. Not one cent to help the 43,000,000 Ukrainian people. So far, just rhetoric. And plenty of warnings to Russian oligarchs to withdraw their money/investments to safer havens, while O'Biden debates with himself about sanctions. Sanctions should have started immediately with the gathering of Russian forces around Ukraine. COMPLETE crippling sanctions, without warnings, recognizing that diplomacy had no hope of working against Putin. And the waves of millions of refugees has already started, with Poland opening their borders to all. And O'Biden has stood back, allowing this to happen. Anyone interested? Anyone disagree with my assessments? Are my historical and organizational facts fuzzy and accurate enough (blurred targets appear to be easier to hit)? I used numbers to make it easier to identify which thoughts and histories you may be commenting on... I'm ready to discuss on this discussion board... I'm ready to learn if anything I have posted is incorrect. Just say it nicely with references please, if you insist my posts are wrong, I will post the references I used to get to that point of view you may dispute.... but then again, you may change my mind.
