I looked up Kingman's and elder Fielder's career WAR...neither >18...I figured ten or fifteen more than that, esp. Fielder with career .255BA!

Kingman's a *nearly* unique case, as I'm sure you're aware.  If he could have struck out less, his WAR would have been much higher.  Had his BA been higher, too, - then........well, he might have "been in the conversation".  He clearly was swinging for the fences a lot of the time, and with his huge frame, pitchers with good placement could make him miss easily - or take low strikes.  Also..........he could look gawky in the field at times.  He was never gonna threaten to win any Gold Gloves.  I've always wondered how well he'd have done as a pitcher, which is how he started out.  

Also...............both Kingman and elder Fielder were on normally weak-to-bad teams.  Despite WAR's attempt to filter that out, it can't really.  I'm not gonna look it all up, but I would bet the teams he/they was/were on had well less than a .500 record for his/their career(s).

The Brewers will offer a trade package with either Pratt, Williams, or Made, along with some good pitcher like Gasser, or Crow, or maybe Chad Patrick...so they can get Skubal for the 2026 run...

Last night, Ohtani pitched 6 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits with 6 Ks. He went 3-4 at the plate, bringing his batting average to .301.

The broadcast showed a fire raging a mile off or so, two or three times, even...it was the recycling center...

In a previous place of residence, the local recycling center burned periodically. The city paid this dude to haul the recycle stuff, and it would be piled everywhere. And then it would burn. 

Collect, stockpile, burn, repeat. 

I guess there was little profit in sorting and finding a true recycler.

That's pretty amazing stuff.  And didn't know they'd named a stat after Maddux - but appropriate, I guess.  But "Wisco"??  Is that really a thing up there?

Occasionally I'd hear it used up in MadTown--but no, not really used Milwaukee area I'm familiar with...though I do recall a Mifflin Street bar (Madison) of the name Wisco Disco (few few personal visits, due its rep?)...but not really at all a disco, though.

That's about two steps too far on the "cuteness scale", according to this reporter.  (eye roll)

There was a bar off the square called "Y Not Here"...I don't think there was a question mark on the end...and yeah, no Y there.

That's not unreasonable at all - and even scores on the cuteness scale.  But naming a bar is, like, WAY different than labeling a MLB team.  To me, as only a barely cognizant fan these days (haven't even looked at the standings all year), it comes across as yet another ploy to entice youngsters into the entertainment - formerly known as "the game".

I call my team Cerveceros at times.
