Three Saturdays ago, the Saturday Streak Competition came up 10x1, and it was discussed that it would be very nice to name the 10x1 after our beloved mrbob, because that was his game. The player named bobswidow, gave her seal of approval, and I suggested that she be the one to decide how to puncuate it. Jeanne wrote some very incredible things about her wonderful husband Mr. Bob, and even told of how he (and his step children) came up with that name. And it happened that the next day after the SSC was mrbob's birthday! Furthermore, bobswidow posted on that previous Friday night http://www.freecell.net/f/c/disctopic.html?code=8173&replies=13 So this is a petition to Denny to call the 10x1 mrbob, (or some variant) on the drop-down menu. .signs petition, and adds: There has always been discussion about how there are folks who prefer streaking and others who prefer timed competitions. The latter group has schedules, and posted results - even to the extent of posting the top three in the latest completed competition above the current game. Couldn't we have daily streak competitions? I suggest that we have a different streak each day, with the 10 x 1 being called the mr.bob memorial, and the others simply named for the variant. Most of us cannot spend all day at freecell, much as we might like to, so the other six variants should be chosen from variants whose daily record is low (at least below 100). .post second petition

Couldn't help but think of mrbob during yesterday's SSC. Seems like 10x1 is a variant that will kick your a** if either you don't practice every once in a while or you aren't very patient at the right time. Seems like there will be a run of deals that are 36/32 or 25/24 then all of a sudden, bang, there's a 27-3 puzzler or a (40-2 or may own favorite from yesterday that was 60-1).

I suggest, for those who would like to play on the days Tony has declared a break, that we have a mr.bob fest: 10x1 winnable on the 25th and the 1st, and regular 10x1 on the 28th. I'll try to remember to post the results the day after, and I don't propose to tabulate any cums. Anyone willing to post reminders would be most welcome. DebbyJ are you listening? Would anyone care to participate? I doubt I will play Christmas Day, but would like to play the other days. SAB
