These are not 'POP-UP'S". They are "POP-UNDERS". Just refreshing the screen in IE-8 ahd you can move on. However in Mozilla Firefox they will hang up the game. Then you have to flush the catch in firefox. or start up IE and run freecell from there to finish the game. If you don't, "YPU WILL LOSE YOUR STREAK!!

I have a grey slim bar that has popped up regularly lately that freezes my screen and I have to shut down and bring freecell up again.

the ads that I see are directly to the right of 'congratulations you win' aare about 4" square and range from Pac Man to a variety of messages from our sponsors. Not limited to Jack in the Box or Huggies. Does not interfer with my game - Ijust ignore them. I also get...you are the 100,000th player and an instant winner. I get that at least once a week. Of course, I do not respond to those either.

I agree with the person that has them at the bottom corner of the screen. When they come up there is nothing to do but exit Freecell. It doesn't happen too often but it is annoying when you're in the middle of a game and can't get rid of it.

I have not experienced any pop-ups. Though, I use Mozilla Firefox and use the add-on called No Script. It has been VERY useful.

I've gotten the ad a couple of times. I am still running XP with IE 8. It happens at end of game once in a while and cannot get back to game unless I reopen browser.

Getting ads in lower left corner for Huggies, Jack in the Box, and movies, about every 10-15 games. Impossible to x out of, and the only way to get rid of them is to exit freecell completely and log back in. Using Mozilla Firefox 4.0, with several pop-up blockers. Not happening every time, but pretty frequently in past week or so.

I've had them on my screen. You have to roll your cursor over them to get them to 'pop up'. Highly annoying.

Jack in the Box. 2nd time today. I'll take it as a sign I'm playing too much:) But even thought there's a "close" box, it just minimizes the ad - freecell is still hijacked and you have to shut it down and start over.

We have several dozen threads about pop-up adds - kind of difficult to navigate. This one has the most content, which is why I posted here to move it to the top. Like myself, many other players have posted that they have never seen the ads described. Also, adds are never displayed by the freecell server DURING games, as some have described. Adds are only displayed in the screen that appears at the conclusion of each game, with the good (or bad) news. Anyone seeing pop-up adds during games is likely playing on a computer infected with some type of ad-ware or malware. If you are seeing these type of annoying adds, I suggest checking your computer for adware or other malicious software. There is nothing Denny can do about this.
