Is he still on waivers.......or did he get optioned to AAA?
This is a pretty amazing stat:
It's a bit hard to see how the math works out (and I haven't really tried), as this time period is well under two full years. And one figures at most, what, 45 series a year - or slightly more, perhaps? So that's only 90-100 series there. So I can't quite see how they get to 106. Maybe teams play a bunch of 2-game serieses(sp?) these days?? [Does it so happen that the singular and plural of that words are identical? Maybe so.]
I was checking the baseball scores on the ESPN app. It has a brand new look. Every game that has not started has an associated line of various odds that are clickable links that take you directly to ESPN Bet.
It’s about time! Prior to the update, you would need at least two clicks to put this month’s mortgage payment at risk.
Bill Walton, 71, lost his battle with cancer and died today. He was a fantastic college and NBA player, and his commentary on ESPN for Pac 12 basketball was crazed but throughly enjoyable. He referred to the Pac 12 as the Conference of Champions, and I have no doubt that the destruction of the Pac 12 broke his heart.
Can you say "end of an era"? And the often trite expression "They broke the mold after they made him" is completely accurate in his case.
I had the pleasure of seeing one of the two UCLA vs. USC basketball games Walton’s senior season (‘73-‘74). USC was highly rated but UCLA and Walton came out in the zone and quickly had a 20+ point lead in the first half. Walton was a fantastic player. Highly underrated imho.
Well, this is sure much more than a "tid-bit", but I also hated to start yet another "sports" thread. This is pretty interesting, and pretty giant news - and I have mixed feelings about it, as I imagine most do. Literally millions of sports books containing the old records will need to be recalled, etc. Makes the 154/162 games asterisks (among many) seem trivial in comparison:
And so where does this leave Sadaharu Oh? Etc.
The Canadian talking heads are calling the Oilers’ captain “McJesus.” Not sure about that. I would go with McMoses.
L.A. Kings fans have a few other names for him
The Kings fans have the leisure time to make up some real doozies. Any worth repeating (within the rules of the discussion board)?
The Panthers play solidly tough hockey, but they'll surely lose if they push it too far (Oilers' devastating PP, ~50%).
Oklahoma women’s softball completed the four-pete last night with an 8-4 win over Texas. This may have been their most difficult of the four, but they were dominant in the final two games.
Barkov and Bobrovsky's stifling defense, rather impressive.
Now Jerry West has moved on....

Two goals and two assists for McWow. Some Florida throats getting a bit tight?
The Canadian talking heads are losing their minds over McDavid's performance -- a total of eight points in two games of the finals puts him in rare air. Some of the declarations:
- He is McJesus
- McMagic
- A lock for Conn Smythe, win or lose
Yeesh.
The Oilers have tied the Stanley Cup series at 3-3 with the Panthers with the deciding game to be played in Florida. Edmonton won game 6 5-1 despite McDavid being held scoreless and Leon Draisaitl limited to a single assist.
The Florida goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky, was untouchable in the entire playoffs and for the first few games of the finals. But he is ice cold and has let in a ton of goals in the three Edmonton wins. Being back in Miami on home ice will help the Panthers.
It will be an interesting Game 7 on Monday.
Wellllll................that's *really* seven pitches because the walk *should* count as 4 more pitches (I hear tell that a pitcher can now 'walk' a batter by just declaring an intentional walk, without actually doing it - which is nigh unto (not completely) an abomination), to match up with history. So........"fake news", imo.
For those doubting that making an intentional walk more "intentional"...............just realize it removes *yet one more* strategic option, to wit:

And that's not even counting the danger of a WP or PB on each pitch.
TMI. If you're trying to draw attention to one particular aspect, we need to know what it is.
Yeah, I still think free passes should be earned with four pitch-outs.
Like how Kelly Leak took advantage...
