Mea culpa.  *That* story is what I had known multiple times in the past but couldn't recall at 6 AM.  And even tho 2/3 asleep, I should have been able to nail that one.  Kinda like a sneaky tricky 9x3 or something 😉.

And isn't asking Chat-GPT the equivalent of googling - as far as asking for help?  Wouldn't have helped wake my brainbone up any more.  The question wasn't actually a 'test'......but speaking only for myself.....sort of a trivia question best not answered on the brink of unconsciousness.

And btw...........I'm sure almost all here reading this thread know Muddy's effort on that just kicks - so no need for me to link it.

For me (personally) no. I don't ask google anything (I mean using my voice). By typing, I use Chat-GPT free version (no identity required).

I don't see a distinction, for this purpose.  Both are asking for help in answering a question, that comes from outside one's own faculties/memory.  Not trying to speak for Buzz.......but I think it's clearly a case of "Do I know this or not?"  It wasn't "Gee, how can we find this out?".

So be it if you say so. I described my case anyway. I started saying "For me...", right?

I think I quoted what I responded to, right? Or dou you mean I mix things up?

While you did quote what you responded to - the response didn't get at the key part:  "....- as far as asking for help."  So I guess one could say you were "moving the goalposts" by re-framing the *intent* of the question.

Your "For me (personally) no." changes the intent of my comment - which was to say:  either one got help to respond to BrewCrew's question.......or one did not.  Neither Buzz nor I did.  *Either* google or Chap-GPT are "external aids".  LOL.

I assumed by "googling" you meant "asking something by speaking to mike (pobably on a mobile phone)". Did you mean something else?

"Googling (for me) means "searching a string entered or selected on my desktop computer." Hence "For me (personally) ...".

I have never 'spoken' to a computer, or smart phone.  Wouldn't even know how to set that up.  I meant going to google-dot-com, or in my case more often that duck one, and entering a term in the search field.  But that doesn't even matter.  However one did it, it's an "external aid" - separate and apart from the human brain and its memory banks.  I think that's pretty clear-cut.  Really befuddling that you can't appreciate that distinction.

I do that thing less and less while there is Chat-GPT there answering directly what you ask or at times collecting what is needed from the Web itself and presenting the result nicely. I thought you were at that too. My bad.

I think in general........and more or less universally........when one says "ungoogled", it means "I didn't go look it up on some authoritative source."  Even common sense tells one that, methinks.

I meant "rolling stone" as in old country aphorisms and such, like stuff nobody can patent copyright (artistically fiscally whatever).

That Hues Corporation video, and the one two posts down, by Buzz, of Rick Astley, are among the most blatant lip-syncing I've ever seen.  And that's saying a lot.  Maybe better to say that they're in that "boat" of "bottom (top?) shelf" lip-syncing examples.  Just because 'everybody was doing it' back then never made it proper.

And.............as to the "Hang On Sloopy" one..........may I assume you posted that as an RIP tribute to Rick Derringer?

Sheeran is a talented performer and a successful songwriter. Not sure there was much basis to the lawsuit. I've seen an analysis or two of the two songs that quickly dismissed the notion of copyright infringement.

Ok, technically, I'd call this "new music".......but because we've discussed one (both?) of these fellows in some detail earlier in this thread (Sept. 22, '22; and May 20, '24), I'm putting it here.  Heck - it may even be a repeat.  I know we/somebody posted some stuff from the 2013 Chicago Crossroads event before.  Sorry/not sorry if'n that's the case.  Just a couple of southern boys engaging in a slide-fest, or is it a slide-a-thon?  Great rhythm section, too.  (And although there's some resemblance, that's *not* the "other Derek" on bass.)
