This one was also rather "awful"!

Yes - it *was* every bit that hard.  Not the least waft surprised it hadn't been won.  Every once in a while even a blind fence post finds a friendly groundhog.

And on the contrary............this one was a breath of Spring air:

That is my biggest 1 game 'Elo' improvement in a very long time, imo!

8x3 25644-12...first of one hundred something, but I failed thrice (or so).

My first 6x4 today in the SSC was 93/0.

6x4s aren't supposed to be winnable. So your reekiness doesn't belong in this thread.

Not complaining, just saying. 

But because I lost points - it *is* winnable - or so the machines say.  So yes, it does belong. 

P.S. - "Not to mention"............a lot of these climate 5 games have winning percentages in the single digits (or thereabouts) - unbecoming of climate 5 in virtually any variant.  Since andaronjim quit coming around, these things have gotten very loose. 

As the title states never won winnables. Any wins should not be posted here. Cooties miserable loss truly belongs here.

6x4s are not guaranteed winnable. 

My take would be to include any winnable game regardless of a dubious history. Dubious as in connections to the famous gang of winnables, the likes of which, have wrought havoc since the day they were conceived. But that's just my uneducated take.

Gosh, I can't believe the accursed winnables flavor has been around for over 10 years.  Makes me feel old.  As if.........

That said..........TT started this thread just over 10 years ago, and here are his criteria - or at least this germane part of it:

My understanding of this thread is that it is a place to either bring attention to a game that either still hasn’t been won or tick off another game from the list of unwon winnables.

This one wasn’t as hard as a few others I have tackled lately but had been previously won. But it’s a fun one to try.

It wasn't THAT difficult, imo.

I wouldn’t normally bring this up here since I am the only one to ever play it, but that “Elapsed” is a large underestimate of the time I spent staring at the screen. I think it’s the hardest one I can recall ever playing. There were so many promising methods that went nowhere. The one I finally found I had to plan 50 moves before I could get a column free (with two freecells open). I had to double, triple and quadruple check that it really was going to work using much of the logic in another thread of things to avoid.

That's impressive..............but how, pray tell, did you remember 50 moves.  That seems rather superhuman.

I guess I would say visualization. After looking at that game for soooo damn long, I could see the whole stupid thing in my head even though I never wanted to. Actually, I didn’t know the suit of every card but whether they were red or black and many of their suits.

I don’t think I used to be able to do that. It came with years of Freecelling.

i can still tell you the moves that got me a free column right now even though I would prefer it if my brain would move on.

This is surprising. It’s a fun one if you want a challenge but not a maddening frustration. Also given the record, I wouldn’t have minded a bit higher of an ELO boost.

As detailed in the SSC for 7x4 today:

Normally I wouldn't denote such a game, of which I was only the second contestant......but it really was a challenge:

I don't think it was THAT difficult!

Using cards does require some patience, but it has good rewards, imo!!!
