Playing a streak and wait 30 seconds for the next game to reload due to connectivity issues- fyi
I've never tried loading Denny, but I imagine it would be a complex procedure - 30 seconds for a game load seems ridiculously rapid by comparison.
...but even if you did, would you get him fired? ๐คจ
I wouldn't want him to have to carry that weight, a long time
Duh. Work = force x distance
"Long time" *presumes* some distance is involved, although that's not been explicitly spelled out. ๐ค
Follow the tracks & read between the lines...
Not to be confused with this offering......................or is it?:
Bob Dylan - Slow Train (Live from San Francisco, 1979) - YouTube
(Warning - it rocks.)
Gratuitously unrelated (to my previous conflation), a somewhat less philosophical metaphor - a lyrical apology for a catastrophe? Definitely not an apostrophe.
I find it unbelievable that I saw the forerunners to AC/DC in my home town when I was at high school. Who knew?
DifferentDay: I do hope that you did read between *my* lines! tee hee
In case there's still a slowness issue, refer to Problems about Sllooww or the Network Connection stuff. There's a whole lot of Internet between your browser and the server and it's usually something there: your ISP, some machine in the route, or even your own home Wifi.

This thread has started to load slowly after outskirts posted the picture above. (at least for me)
It's a pretty big PNG which gets saved inline as a bunch of base64 text which will probably about double it in size.
Hey roo, I hung out with Tom Petty when he was just a regular guy. Well, as regular as Tom could be. Not all that regular, really. Mike Campbell on the other hand, was very regular, which is probably how he could put up with Tom.
"It's a pretty big PNG which gets saved inline as a bunch of base64 text which will probably about double it in size."
Not that much. 3 bytes are coded as 4 bytes. so it's 33% increase.
This thread has started to move rapidly since her majesty introduced strapons - get thee to an abbey, before it becomes a habit (all roads lead to ruin, I'm tempted to say)
Hey I didn't introduce anyone, but would you like me to?
To strapons? As MC, that's your prerogative, subject to rule G. That might be taking the mic to take the Mike; should be entertaining...
You called me the MC. I was just denying the job.
Oh yeah I hit rule G when MikeC entered it. Y'all can stop hinting around. But I didn't hit the Dylan train song. Y? Well, you should know!
OK rule G applies to railroading . Whenever a crew has an accident they drug test . A violation of rule G means that a crew member showed up to work either drunk or high . Remember the song about Casey Jones ?
I simply touched the words, hit web search and voila, I knew.
I've experienced intermittent slow loading of the next game when playing tournaments today. You click on the flashing yellow "play" button and then you wait and it can take up to 30 seconds for the game to appear. It really takes it's toll on the speedier tournaments. Wondering if anyone else noticed it today. It's not every tournament and not every game but has happened throughout all of today. - Anyone else notice it?
Denny- it is still doing it- are you aware? any ideas? any changes made recently?
Yes, I've noticed it with regular streak play.
For me it's only slightly irritating.
It is also slow loading 1000 line data pages. Maybe 100 lines at a time would be enough?
I myself didn't notice any serious slowness problem recently as far as playing games is concerned. Maybe it's because I have no fast connection at all.
One thing I notice though the threads with posted pictures take a long for me to load. That's why I started to not click them at all. Especially those I know of having pictures posted before. I guess it should not be allowed posting pics with several megabytes. There should be a lower limit.
I noticed some slowness this weekend but our Internet was pretty choppy so I thought it was just us. I see the database consuming more cycles than normal. I'll keep an eye on it.
Wrt to pictures, those get stored in the message as base64 text so a 4mb image takes more like 8mb. So those are big but I haven't noticed any discernable difference myself loading picture threads. You?
I've noticed pages with pics load slower, too, for about 2 months or so? It wasn't like that 'in the beginning', however. Remember the brouhaha when outskirts posted something huge, and it caused a problem? It seems to not have fully rectified itself since then - but that's an imprecise memory.
OK. Here how it goes for me. I tried "Nothing to see here" thread when the developer tools is open.
Takes about 3 seconds for me. Since they are stored as message, they have to be reloaded again and again. No caching is possible.
Scroll up to see the "brouhaha" after that pic I posted in this thread. Lol
Another couple times, I broke a thread while attempting to post a pic with a nasty old cheap phone. It was the nasty phone's fault.
