When I had automatic scripts doing the SSC, I would generate a brand new thread for each Saturday (on Mondays).  Then, I would bump it a couple times during the week. Then on Saturday, auto-post to it every 4 hours with the latest scores, and auto-post after midnight with the final results. So I know it was possible, back then on my XP machine, to do what TN wants.  I remember I only ever figured out how to do it with Internet Explorer, though. It's likely possible with other browsers and maybe Hop already knows how.  Of course the discussion board software itself has changed since then, does wikitable support still exist?  My existing code is way dead,

Yes, joey, that was wonderful - and to this observer, ideal.  But as redberet (and Hop) notes(note), if somebody actually has to do labor to get all that done, then that becomes a burden.

i experimented with creating  a useragent to login to get the credentials, create a new thread, or post to an existing thread, or edit an existing message. used it for the wordbox stuff. probably needs some updates to accommodate the login changes

To summarize from memory: I used Excel.  It has a scripting language "Visual Basic" built into it.  VBA itself has (or had) built-in hooks to access IE.  IE could load discussion board pages and my VBA scripts could fill in the username, password, and message text. There was some nice VBA code to haul stuff from the data feeds and generate wikitable tables.  My own (Excel) database kept track of the (for example) disctopic.html?code=18238 part of the DB URL, including obtaining it from the thread-creation post.  Now, of course, since Denny (for no good reason that I can see) removed the password from this page, I guess you would have to be logged in, not sure how that would work.  I then placed invocations of Excel pages into the windows scheduler on my home computer  at appropriate times, and the worksheets thus activated would run their scripts.  My home XP computer was always up, of course the MTF wasn't perfect but pretty good.  I did successfully port it all to my Windows 10 computer, but IE itself was getting deprecated by microsoft at the time so I got doubts.

Naturally, you can do all this at a lower layer and not use an existing browser at all.  You'd be building basically a very small single-purpose browser.  Too much work for me then, and I'm way out of the business now.

FWIW.............I don't want this to be just me causing all this trouble.  I've just been pointing out what I see as that gap between the coders, and those of us who don't get all that stuff.  I'm fine if that's just the way everybody else wants it.  I'll adapt.  But I sorta think I'm being a kind of Greek chorus - voice of the common man, as it were.  (And I have no assurance that that's actually the case.)  Whatever is best for the majority of 'us' is what should rule - and that includes the bother of the reporting aspect.  And again, I'm thankful for those who've been doing the work.

Yeah.  To be honest, TN, when I saw that Hop had created that page (that I linked in the other thread) I soon gave up posting twice a week what are now known as Joey scores.  IMHO his page entirely superseded what I was doing.  I’m not the fastest adopter of new stuff anybody ever heard of so you can trust me: time marches on, use Hop’s page.  I have it permanently on a tab, 3rd from the left.  Its icon is cool binoculars, too.

It's a quick hack. ChatGPT provided some Node.js code, which I then modified to suit my needs. I can only post to an existing discussion; I can't start a new one or edit an existing post. It sounds like cellmate has a more complete solution.

I wish you had been sitting here beside me to watch what all I went through to get done what I did.  The historic frustrations with using your site just keep me from getting familiar with it.  I just virtually never use it, thus will never remember the sequence(s) of clicks to find what I want. And at this point (as has been true for awhile), this is NOT complaining; it's just explaining.  I fully realize I'm the one who has the problem on this.  But nobody else was putting it up there.........so I was just trying to perform a public service. 

So far.........on this 5x6 challenge...........every game I've lost is (supposedly) winnable - but has never been won.  Something smells I'm sayin'.  I suspect it's that same ol' "climate 5 switcheroo play".

Per chance were I ever to train myself hard enough to become at all competent at this variant, I'd feel proud, even like a bragging a-hole.

cellmate, it's my design. I didn't want it to be too wide. You can see the results in the "Weeks" tab anyway. Or you can head to "Variants" tab to make your way to it somehow.

kenwa, I'm curious you paste the picture of the table above. There is "Copy Table" button in that page. You can click it and then paste it here. Doesn't it work for you?

Hop, works for LLC and WWCX. For SSC maybe add a second row with the remaining 18. (i know you won't.)

But at least update the SSC info how to do it with Weekly and Variants instead.

Another point, there's no list of the complete variant cycle for any of the competitions. Schedule page is a source for that but incomplete for SSC

You made improvements by adding headings for these pages recently. Before that you couldn't tell which competition you were looking at. Yes i know its on the tab but who looks there.

I don't want to touch it. hc (half cycle) is 18. Setting it to 36 displays all the variants in the "Schedule" tab, but the code depends on it, something may not work (I'm not sure now).

For WWCX and LLC, half cycle is actually full cycle.
