(ah, dropping down a line after the link makes it clickable)

Sometimes my links would go hyper, sometimes not. I figured it must have been that my crappy woods hotspot connection was just being slow. (It's really very good). But since ix's hint to drop down a line, it has worked every time. Thanks so much darlin
Please don't take this wrong, but this is *very* ironic. Back when Denny first made possible hyperlinks, there was a lot of confusion about how to make them work - as he didn't detail the process. So there was a period of time (many days or a small number of weeks?) in which it was hit or miss, with some posters catching on to the trick earlier than others. I'm virtually certain it was you who clued me in to the "hit the 'enter' key, and then backspace" to make them work. So all this time since then, when well more than half your intended links didn't hyperlink, I've laboriously copy-and-pasted, or otherwise made yours work, *without* complaining to you to do it right. 'Cause I knew you knew how, so I assumed you were just saving time - so I wasn't gonna irk you by requesting you do them as hyperlinks. I probably don't wanna take the time to go find all that, as it was in quite a few different threads - but I'm 95+% sure it was you. So this is in NO way any sort of complaint, or snark, or anything of the sort. Just pointing out the long-standing irony just discovered. And so yeah, thanks, ix, for the helpful hint, and thus solving a mystery.
Yup I remember. Not the same solution there. I specifically said to make a space after the link, not to drop down a line.
No they don't both work. Get over urself and just stop 🛑
Now please mansplain to me why women are actually the superior gender.
They both work on my devices. Maybe they don't on yours, as yours are quite different from mine. No mansplainin' needed on the superior gender thing. It's obvious. Congratulations on the genetic win!
I know that speil doesn't work for U irl. Now please mansplain to me how LMTFA translates to "Rag on me for eternity".
@TN: No problem here on my iPhone. Automatic hot link. My PC is a bit odd — I have to put a space after the URL, but that lights up the link every time.
@TN: “ Please don't take this wrong” 😜
The behavior of this persona was inspired by the odd behavior of my grandmother as she grew old. She was constantly bragging about the size of her “chests” and was making endless sexual innuendos. As her 14-year-old grandson, I really did not want to hear any of that. My dad was going crazy trying to keep her within acceptable boundaries. The last straw was when she told us the tale of answering the door for a repairman, and surprised him by being totally nude.
firenze’s mother reminds me so much of her.
It is interesting that we are watching the slow evolution of yet another such character right here on this discussion board.
Men: next time you "disagree" with your woman over something, please reassure her that you understand. Maybe she'll buy that!
Dept of juicy old gossip
Ted Danson and Whoopi were a hot heavy item and big time tabloid fodder for a long time ...
It also went on to say that they remained friends. But Whoopi said her big regret was losing Ted's friendship after that.
ai didn't say that last part I knew it.
Re making a link go hyper
Finally figured out how it works on my phone and tablet, now. If I jump directly from the link to the next line, it works. If I first press the space bar (like used to be the way) it doesn't work.
Things don't always stay the same y'know. In fact almost never do things stay the same.
Boy-oh-boy! The Panera bakery people know what they're doing.
Today is the 50th anniversary of the beginning of Apple. As a non-user, inconsequential personally, but from a cultural and financial viewpoint............it very much is. Titrate your psychedelics before entering:
There is a popular American saying. "No sh!t, Sherlock" often shortened to just "no sh!t". Idk where the saying came from or who Sherlock could possibly be. Maybe one of our geniuses could google it for me and please mansplain it?
If you use that phrase at someone, you are probably suggesting a bit satirically that they have over-explained something you already knew (and so they're not the Sherlock Holmes they thought they were).
You could very likely regard my explanation as a case in point and use the phrase at me.
"I find your powers of deductive reasoning fall somewhat short of the genius level you thought you had achieved."

This Scotland humor is so funny and doesn't get old. I am half Scottish Canadian myself.

As for my list, I was kind of hoping to inspire others to post their own lists. We could see if anything appears on every list. Lord knows there are plenty more things that can go on such a list. (In fact, undoubtedly a very viable 20 item list that doesn't intersect mine at all is doable.) I know that mine can't help being biased, though I did try.
I see Paul Ruebens whenever I see narrator dude...figured maybe brothers.
And I do also love the crime-solving abilities of bunny rabbit Miss Scarlett.
you must have had to plan ahead to use the restroom in those dresses.
Yeah, the perversions were publicly exposed.
Recalling that funny show reminds me of Pee-wee's nemesis: dude portraying Francis, BUT dude then portraying *Gacy* later in his career...creepy.
I know we've discussed the overcrowding on Everest this time of year before, but I can't find it, so I'm putting this here. (AND....................I'll note that I did *not* resurrect the thread likely most appropriate for this, because there was extraneous stuff too dilutive.) In any event, this is astounding:

OK - somebody humo(u)r me. Is this spate of deletions the work of Laura? Or each poster doing their own?
(Just a random post/question within a "random" thread.)
I may be mistaken, but my understanding is that when a moderator deletes a post, the entire post disappears, not just the text. There would be no trace, no residuals.
That's what I had always thought, too. But there certainly have been a lot of "disappearances" lately. Maybe something "catching" coming thru "the internets".
I believe that I have had just one blank post recently. I made an offer to post on a thread, the was ignored, and the thread was deleted. So, I removed the text from the irrelevant post.
Brewski sometimes has empty posts. Maybe he could share his perspective.
I occasionally like dropping something with a quick deletion...see who's peeking and peeping around electronically...(scattering cockroaches (potato bugs, maybe) after rock upturned).
But the boomer one I deleted since it was put in the wrong thread.
